An Updated Look Into My Skincare Routine

Skincare Routine June 2015

I’ve been going through my archives and realised that it’s been a long time since I’ve shown you an update to my skincare routine (my last one was in 2013!). It has definitely changed a lot since then and I’m happy to say that I’m quite at peace with what I’m using now.

As a beauty blogger, I get the opportunity to try out a lot of different types and brands of skincare but funny enough, most of the ones I really like were ones that I’d discovered on my own and love using. You’ll notice that I use a lot of serums and I love them because they’re the ones doing the bulk of the job on taking care of my skin. Well, next to sunscreen, of course.

Here’s what I’ve been using lately:

Get That Ultra Glam Bombshell Glow with Physician’s Formula’s Multi-Coloured Custom Blush in Brunettes

Physician's Formula Brunettes Bombshell Multi-Coloured Custom Blush

This is another one of ’em Physician’s Formula blushes that I very almost bought on iHerb. I’ve mentioned this before but I’ll say it again: when it comes to blushes, you almost cannot go wrong with Physician’s Formula. I say “almost” because most of the blushes are chock-full of overspray and shimmer but once you rub all that prettiness off, you’ll get very decent matte blushes.

I contemplated between buying the Brunettes or Blondes version of the Multi-Coloured Custom Blush. I had the Brunettes in my shopping cart but lo and behold, just a few days later, a press kit kindly arrived from Physician’s Formula and inside were both the Blondes and Brunettes! I haven’t tried the Blondes version but I must say, I am loving the Brunettes blush sick.

Ultraceuticals Complete Correction CC Cream: Complete (Lack of) Coverage Much?

Ultraceuticals Complete Correction CC Cream

I’ve tried goodness-knows-how-many BB, CC and even DD creams now so if you’re wondering why I bought yet another one to try, hear me out. I didn’t. This small, deluxe sample of Ultraceuticals CC cream came in a David Jones beauty gift bag a few months ago (y’know, the kind where you spent over a certain amount of money and you’ll able to buy a beauty bag of goodies for only $20 that is worth a lot more than that? Yeah, I got sucked in. I always get sucked in. 😛 ) and I was actually very keen on giving it a go. Even though it was only a sample, I actually liked the size as I thought it would be great for travelling since I’ll be doing at least 3 more interstate trips this year.

It took me a while to decide on whether I should write a review on it or not. I don’t typically review products that come in sample sizes like this but I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you what I thought of it in case you’re thinking of splurging on this CC cream for yourself. I mean, what if it was really good and I didn’t tell you you’re missing out? Worse yet, what if it’s bad and you end up wasting money on it?

Unfortunately, this time, this CC cream falls on the latter category.

Celebrating 8 Years of Blogging With Something Extra Special!

THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

Beautyholics Anonymous Celebrates 8 Years of Blogging

Okay you know how when you’ve been blogging for so long that you forgot your blogging anniversary? Erm that happened to me. BA’s anniversary was actually last month and I, erm, forgot about it. What can I say? Oops? 😛

Oh well, as they say, better late than never!

So, whaddyaknow. Eight years of blogging. Where did all that time go? I still remember that one blog post that made me try out beauty blogging (it’s the one on how to get rid of cracked heels, which was on my now defunct personal blog). I remembered raving about Paris B‘s blog posts when I left comments on her blog (I was a blogging fangirl of hers for that many years. It also means that I’ve known her that long!) and she told me I should start my own. I had a personal blog back then, wrote that post on cracked heels, enjoyed it so much, started a new blog on Blogger a few days later and the rest, as they say, is history.

BA has evolved over the years and I, too, have evolved as a blogger and a person. It has taught me great lessons on writing, photography, technical support and troubleshooting, managing my own time, being my own boss, publishing my own book, growing my own tribe and so much more. It also has its ups and downs; ups when my blog achieved something great and downs when that green-eyed monster comes out every once in a while when I feel as though my blog isn’t doing as well as many others.

I have to say though, that the best part of growing a blog from nothing to what it is today, is watching my tribe grow. What’s this tribe I’m talking about? Why, I’m talking about you, of course!
