WIN A Winter Comfort Pack To Combat Those Wintry Blues!

THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

Winter Comfort Pack 2015 Giveaway

Okay I know that it’s stinking hot in the Northern hemisphere now but where I am Down Under, geez Louise, it’s cold. It’s typical winter weather we’ve been having now and all I want to do is stay in bed under the warm doona! For those of you in Australia and New Zealand, you know what I mean, right?

With the wintry weather comes the heater, and that means very dry and warm air that can do havoc to our skin. Winter is the time when I amp up my skincare level to “ultimate hydration” with lots of hyaluronic acid serums and face oils. I’ve been incorporating a few drops of face oil to my night cream every night and even though my face looks like a greasy pot, it’s soft and smooth the next morning. Totally worth the grease and shine, I tell ya!

Since we’re in the wintry months, I thought I’d give away a winter comfort pack that I’ve put together for one lucky reader. This giveaway is for Australian and New Zealand readers only this time because we need all the comfort and warmth we can get! 🙂

Bloggie Wednesday: 8 Books Bloggers Should Read

Bloggie Wednesday: 8 Books Bloggers Should Read

Since I wrote about a book yesterday, I thought I’d continue with more books that you might like to check out. This time, it’s not so much about beauty but books that bloggers should check out if they’d like to learn more about blogging, growing their web presence and ultimately marketing their content and/or products online. If you asked me 10 years ago if I’d be reading books like these, I’d say you were mad because they’d bore me to tears. Things are very different now and I love them!

I made it a point to read more last year and I’m glad I hit my reading goals. From then on, I’ve been reading more and these are the ones that I’ve enjoyed. You don’t even have to be a blogger to read these because most of them will apply to you as well. If you’re a blogger, I highly recommend you add these to your reading list.

Here they are in no particular order.

On My Beauty Bookshelf: Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes

On My Beauty Bookshelf - Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes

I’ve been meaning to review this book for a while now, but I wasn’t sure if you’d be up for a book review here on BA. I took to Twitter for opinions and the consensus was a resounding yes! A good book to start with would be one of the best beauty books that I’ve read in a while, and that’s Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes.

If you’re unsure about who Sali Hughes is, she’s a popular journalist in the UK (in 2011, she became The Guardian Weekly’s beauty columnist) and makes regular radio and TV appearances. She started out as an assistant makeup artist and worked her arse off to where she is today. She’s a good friend of my skincare hero, Caroline Hirons (you should watch their YouTube videos on Hughes’ channel. They’re hilarious!).

Shake That Shine Off With Antipodes’ Performance Plus Skin-Brightening Mineral Finishing Powder

Antipodes Performance Plus Skin-Brightening Mineral Finishing Powder

Out of the many drugstore brands there are in Australia, well I don’t know if it’s just me, but Antipodes sure is an underrated one. I’m surprised that not a lot of people have heard about the brand. They have really good products! I love their Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser, their Grapeseed Butter Cleanser is comparable to the very expensive one by Eve Lom and their moisturisers are more than decent.

Yet funny enough that I should say that because I absolutely had no idea that Antipodes doesn’t just do skincare. They have a small makeup range too! I had the opportunity to try out their translucent Performance Plus Skin-Brightening Mineral Finishing Powder (otherwise known as a loose powder) and I must say, it’s one of the best loose powders I’ve encountered in a long time.
