Beauty Experience: My Very First Eyebrow Threading Experience (Ottoman3 Brow Bar)

Ottoman3 Brow Bar Melbourne Central

What: Eyebrow threading
Where: Ottoman Brow Bar @ Melbourne Central
Duration: 15 minutes

Experience:
I’ve had just about everything done to my eyebrows – tinting, waxing, tweezing and even that dreaded mistake of eyebrow embroidery/tattoo – but I’ve never done eyebrow threading before. It’s such a popular brow grooming service for the past few years but for some reason, my head decided to think that since I’ve discovered eyebrow waxing, I didn’t think anything else could suffice. I didn’t realise the repercussions of long-term eyebrow waxing (premature aging in the drooping of the eyelids and also the harsh pulling of the delicate skin); I just wanted a quick fix and waxing was as quick as they come.

Dehydrated Skin vs Dry Skin: Which One Do You Really Have?

Dry Skin vs Dehydrated Skin: Which One Do You Really Have?

For years, our skin has type has been divided into two skin types: oily and dry. Then came the term combination skin where you have oily patches on your skin (typically on the T-zone) and drier areas of the skin like the cheeks or chin. There’s also that category of normal skin, although I’m not a big fan of the term “normal” skin because really, how do you quantify “normal”? Not oily AND not dry? Is there anyone with such skin on the entire face? No, it’s not a rhetorical question; I really want to know!

But here’s the thing. Our skin may not even be dry. It could be dehydrated. My skin can be oily yet dehydrated. Again, dehydrated. Not dry.

Tine, what the heck are you talking about?

What Would You Do: Tester Abusers. Stop It.

What Would You Do: Tester Abusers

It’s been months since I did a “What Would You Do” post, so I thought I’d resurrect it with a scenario today that you’ve most likely seen more often than you’d like. If you’re new to BA (hello and welcome!), a “What Would You Do” is a scenario post. I give you a scenario and it’s up to you to share what you’d do if you were in that situation. I love posts like this because we can get all ranty about it together and I don’t feel so bad complaining to Tim, who really doesn’t give a rat’s backside.

Hmph. 😛

I asked this question on my Facebook page last month but I thought I’d open the scenario here to you too. Oh it irks me. It irks me big time.

*shakes fists*

Kate Somerville Nourish Daily Moisturiser: I Got Sucked In By The Pretty Colour Of The Jar

Kate Somerville Nourish Daily Moisturiser

There’s been a lot of hype about Kate Somerville’s moisturisers for the past year or so and I thought it was time I gave one a go. I wasn’t sure of what to get: the Oil-Free moisturiser, Goat’s Milk Cream or Nourish Daily Moisturiser. In the end, I went for the – and don’t judge me for this – prettiest colour of the jar, and that’s the mint green Nourish Daily Moisturiser.

Ahem. 😛

I’ve been using it as my night cream for almost 2 months now and I figured I’d share my thoughts with you on this. It’s a good moisturiser but really, that’s all it does.
