Bloggie Wednesday: My Favourite Premium WordPress Plugins

Bloggie Wednesday - My Favourite Premium WordPress Plugins

At the time of writing, there are at least 39,790 plugins in the WordPress plugins repository. That’s the whole lot of plugins for you to extend the functionalities of your blog. This is the reason why I’m such an advocate of the WordPress blogging platform; there’s just so much more you can do and add to your blog compared to other blogging platforms. Mind you, I’m not knocking other platforms. After all, I did start blogging on Blogger (or as I’d like to call it “Blogspot”) for years before moving on to WordPress and I only moved because I wanted to experiment with plugins and do more with BA.

This is going to be a WordPress-heavy blog post so my apologies if you’re not on WordPress but these plugins are good to bear in mind in case you do make the change and come over to the dark side some day. 😉

With that many free plugins out there, it could be a tad mind-boggling as to why people would still pay for premium plugins. I’m one of those people. I can go a little crazy on shopping for premium plugins and themes. The thing with free plugins is that while they’re free, you really do get what you (don’t) pay for. Unless we’re talking about major leagues like Yoast who very generously offers his amazing SEO plugins for free and you can bet your bottom dollar that his plugins would be good, the same may not be said by the ones created by less-known developers. Worst of all, there’s almost no technical support for free plugins unless the developer feels like helping you out, because at the end of the day, he/she did offer the plugin to you for no money at all. He/she will need to take time out to help you out with technical support and in this day and age, how many developers are willing to do so?

This is why I love premium plugins. I need to know that I will have access to technical support of the plugin should anything go wrong with the installation or if it conflicts with other plugins that I have. I’ve tried and tested heaps of free WordPress plugins over the years and while most of the plugins I use on BA are free, there are a few that I happily paid for.

Here are 4 of my favourite premium plugins so far.

How Long Do You Spend Working On Your Skincare Routine?

How Long Do You Spend Working On Your Skincare Routine?

Some time ago, I had a good chat with an old chum from my uni days and we reminisced about how I introduced her to skincare and how she used to complain she had no time to even pop moisturiser on when she became a new mum. I used to tell her that a good yet simple skincare routine doesn’t actually take that long and that it would only take about 5-10 minutes. Of course, things have changed for her and she has more time to devote to her skincare now, but it got me thinking … how long do you spend working on your skincare routine each day?

I wasn’t exaggerating when I told her (and now you) that a simple yet effective skincare routine only takes 5 minutes to do. This doesn’t include cleansing since I cleanse my face in the shower anyway, but from toner to sunscreen, it really just only takes me 5 minutes. Of course, if I had more time, I would purposefully take at least 10-15 minutes to pop everything on and let each product sink in before applying the next. I like to spend a bit more time towards my evening skincare routine than my day but if push comes to shove and I’m really rushing for time, 5 minutes are all it takes.

Looking For A Decent Starter Blush? Check Out CROP’s Natural Mineral Pressed Blush in Bouquet!

CROP Natural Mineral Pressed Blush in Bouquet

CROP’s skincare cropped (boo yah!) into the beauty scene (particularly at Coles supermarkets, where I do my grocery runs) not too long ago and now they’ve even launched a large range of makeup. I haven’t tried much of CROP’s skincare but the ones I have tried (e.g. their Gentle Cleansing Gel and Pure Rosehip Oil) are pretty good. So when I found out they’ve come up with a makeup range too, I was quite excited to see what they’ve come up with.

CROP’s makeup is mostly mineral-based as they have their mineral loose powder, pressed powder, blushes, bronzers and highlighters. Today I’d like to share with you the mineral pressed blush in Bouquet and even though it looks quite nondescript on the compact, it’s actually quite lovely.

FREE DOWNLOAD: Motivational Printable Stickers For Your Planner (My Own Creation!)

motivational-printable-stickers-august2015-4

Now if you’ve been downloading free printables from my previous two posts on motivational printable stickers, you’ll know that I had to take the download links down due to copyright issues, much to the disappointment of many of you (very sorry about that!). To be honest, I was very relieved that I only received a slap on the wrist for that one. Geez, what the heck was I thinking?

I received a lot of requests to put the link up again or share something similar again on the blog. So I decided, heck, why not create my own motivational printable stickers instead of just grabbing images off Pinterest? And I did! It’s harder work but it’s much more satisfying.
