My Favourite Splurge-and-Burn-Worthy Candles

My Favourite Splurge-and-Burn-Worthy Candles

If there’s one thing I love to indulge myself in, it’s candles. Okay, that’s not true; I love indulging myself in many more things but if I have to choose, I’d go for luxurious candles any time. Candle-burning isn’t for everyone; I know that there are a lot of people who liken burning candles at home to burning money but hey, we have our vices and what we love treating ourselves to, and for me, that would be candles.

There’s just something about a burning candle that’s relaxing and therapeutic. There’s also something about burning a LUXE candle that’s even better (don’t ask me why, I can’t explain burning a Dyptique vs burning a Glade candle). I’ve burned many, many candles in the past for goodness-knows-how-many years and I’ve come across some that are simply lovely. Heck, I’ve even made my own soy candles! I can’t afford Dyptique candles by the dozen, but there are a number of beautiful candles that aren’t as expensive but are just as splurge-worthy. If you’re a candle lover too, perhaps you’ll recognise some if not all of these brands?

Preloved Makeup Sale for Beyond Blue

Preloved Makeup Sale for Beyond Blue 2015

Happy weekend!

Welcome to the 2015 preloved makeup sale for Beyond Blue! I’m so excited you’ve decided to drop by and check out what I have in store for you today. As I mentioned yesterday, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the items today will go to Beyond Blue. I’m sure you’ll give these items a great home and show them lots of love.

There are a few items that I had to let go with a heavy heart as they weren’t easy to come by when I first got them. Nonetheless, I’m sure you’ll give them more love than I could (better than having them sit in my beauty cupboard unloved and unused). Some of the prices may be higher than expected in typical blog sales but this is for a good cause and I know you’ll understand.

Just A Heads Up: My Preloved Makeup Sale Starts Tomorrow!

Preloved Makeup Sale 2015 Announcement

Last year’s preloved makeup sale for Beyond Blue was such a success that I thought I just have to do another one this year. For those of you who are new to BA (hello and welcome! Remember to say hi below in the comments if you’re new!), I did a preloved makeup sale last year and 100% of the proceeds from the sale were donated to Beyond Blue, which is a national initiative to raise awareness for depression and anxiety. It’s a charity organisation near and dear to Tim’s and my heart and it’s one we actively support.

As most of you will know, I’ll be running my first 5km run at City2Sea on 15 November and I’ve been raising funds for Beyond Blue as well. The proceeds I get from this year’s preloved makeup sale will go directly to Beyond Blue, instead of going through a 3rd party website. This way, I’ll make sure all the $$ go to them instead of the usual administration costs, service fees, blah blah blah. 😛

Taking My Skin Back To When I Really Was Born This Way With Too Faced’s New Foundation!

Too Faced Born This Way Absolute Perfection Foundation

Okay, confession time: I’ve never been too impressed with makeup from Too Faced. Don’t throw rotten tomatoes at me! I know, I know, they’ve come up with so many popular products like that mascara that’s apparently better than sex (really, if a person’s mascara is better than sex, he/she needs to rethink his/her sex life. And that’s all I’ll say about that!), eyeshadow palettes that smell like chocolate and many more. Unfortunately I’ve tried their eyeshadows and they’re not as good as they’re hyped up to be. At least, in my opinion anyway.

So when I heard how popular the Born This Way foundation is, and that it’s sold out almost everywhere, I knew I had to at least check it out. Well whaddyaknow, when I went to my local Mecca Maxima, most shades were sold out. There were a couple of shades left and coincidentally, one of them suited my skin tone to a T. The makeup artist applied it on me, and I must say, I was impressed. She used so little foundation and gave my skin full coverage. Righto, off to the cashier I go with a bottle of the foundation!

I wasn’t just impressed. In just a few tries, this has fast become my top 5 foundations.
