IOPE Air Cushion Foundation: Too Much Cushion, Not Enough Foundation

IOPE Air Cushion Foundation

I haven’t had much experience with Korean cosmetics but this much I know – they sure are popular for their cushion base makeup. The first type of cushion base makeup I tried was the Laneige BB Cushion. Unfortunately, that didn’t impress me much and I stopped giving cushion foundations and BB creams much thought after that. Well, that was until Mum got this for me.

The IOPE Air Cushion Foundation is one of her favourite foundations and during a recent trip to South Korea, she asked me if I was interested in trying it out as well. I figured why not, let’s give it a go! LeGeeque bought the same one very soon after I got mine and she likes it. Well, if these 2 people in my life like it that much, plus the fact that this foundation has won so many awards over the past few years, then things must look up for me, eh? 🙂

Well, erm, in this case, no. Not really.

Bloggie Wednesday: If Blogs And Social Media Did Not Exist

Bloggie Wednesday: If Blogs And Social Media Did Not Exist

© Stocksnap.io

Have you ever thought what the world would be like without the existence of blogs and social media? What would our lives be like if we never had social platforms like Friendster, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc? What would it be like if we didn’t blog nor have blogs to read?

I was having a moment of reflection and random musings a few days ago about this and thought of what it would be like if social media never existed. I thought I’d share them with you today. A bit of a short and random Bloggie Wednesday topic but hey, it gets you thinking, doesn’t it? Do you reckon your life would improve if you’re completely free of blogs and social media? Or do you think it would be worse without them?

Beauty Tools We Often Forget To Clean/Replace

Beauty Tools We Often Forget To Clean/Replace

© kamenuka

All right, can I have a show of hands here … when was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? This week? Good for you! Me too. 😛

Now, next question: when was the last time you cleaned those makeup puffs and applicators that come with your favourite foundation compact and eyeshadow palette? How about when it was that you last cleaned
your eyelash curler?

Ahem.

I hear ya. Guilty as charged. Oh, and I was talking about me.

I was taking my shower cap out to use the other day only to realise that mould has been growing inside of the cap and I had no idea. I shudder even thinking about it now. Needless to say, it went into the bin immediately. And it got me wondering when the heck it was that I last cleaned that piece of plastic filth. Or the many beauty tools I use but forget to clean or even replace?

So I went to my beauty drawers and took out all of the beauty tools I use and gave them a good clean. I thought I’d also list down some of the items that you may have overlooked that needed cleaning along with how I clean them. Hey, no judgement here. I’ve been guilty of not cleaning/replacing all of the items below. 😛

Top 10 Under $10

Tine's Top 10 Under AU$10 2015

One of the beauty topics I enjoy reading on blogs and watching on YouTube is “Top X Under $X”. It could be top 10 lipsticks under $10, or top 20 moisturisers under $20 and so on; it goes to show that there are very good beauty products in the drugstore/pharmacy that are affordable and doesn’t require a kidney to purchase. I’ve been meaning to do a similar post for quite some time now but haven’t really gotten around to it simply because, well, everything is just bloody expensive in Australia, isn’t it?

Yes yes, I understand that we have higher wages hence higher cost of living, and I’m not going to go into that today. I understand that. It doesn’t mean that I still don’t baulk at the prices of the same products available in the US that are half the price of what we’d get here. And that’s with the declining Australian dollar!

To be honest, when I was “researching” this post (and by that, I meant a bit of Googling here and there), I thought it was going to be a challenge searching for 10 great beauty products under AU$10. I browsed the Priceline website and as I was writing down the good products I’ve used, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it actually wasn’t that hard after all. We DO have some great skincare, hair care and makeup for less than a tenner. Fancy that! 🙂

Having said that, unfortunately I wasn’t able to find enough products that I’ve used and loved for under AU$10 that I can put them in their respective categories. Instead of “top 10 moisturisers for under AU$10” or even “top 10 skincare products for under AU$10”, it’s just going to be general top 10 under 10. Hopefully as I discover more affordable gems, I’ll be able to add to the list.

So here it is, a jumble of my version of a Top 10 Under AU$10.
