Bloggie Wednesday: When Blogging Goals Aren’t Met (And It’s Okay!)

Note: Feel free to make this a drinking game. Drink each time you read the word “goal” on this post. Don’t be surprised to find yourself plastered by the end of the post. You’ve been warned. 😛

Bloggie Wednesday: When Blogging Goals Aren't Met (And It's Okay!)

I was looking back at the year that was for BA and searched for this post where I wrote about what would be in store for BA in 2015, what my goals were, and what 2015 would be for you and I on BA. It wasn’t until I read Rebecca’s (From Roses) post on Why It’s Okay To Be Average that I stopped feeling guilty and awful about myself because, to be honest, I didn’t meet my blogging goals this year. Neither did I meet any of 2014’s.

Oh boy. Deep breaths.

At the beginning of 2015, I had a lot of things in store for BA. I wanted to do live Google Hangouts on blogging and host Bloggie Brekkie where we could all talk about blogging. Well, that obviously did not happen. I originally wanted to feature more readers on the blog and while that started off with a bit of a bang, it also fizzled out very quickly. I set on making some changes to the way I post on the blog and thankfully, I managed to get that done.

This got me thinking … should I stop making blogging goals altogether since I didn’t even manage to fulfill everything that was set in the last couple of years? It also made me wonder – do you make blogging goals at the beginning or end of each year and do you stick to them?

Gimme That Colour Pop Oh Charlotte Tilbury With Your Beach Stick in Es Verda!

Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick Lip-to-Cheek Dewy Colour Pop in Es Verda

In the beauty world, hot summer months mean heaps of sunscreen, long-lasting and dewy, glowy makeup. Of course, if it tickles your fancy, you might want to add lots of bronzer and self-tanners too but as for me, I’ll be happy to stick to sunscreen and glowy makeup. Speaking of which, I discovered yet another gorgeous cream blush that is so richly pigmented, you’d think I was applying lipstick on my face.

I’ve only tried a few items from Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup line but so far, I’ve had great results with them. I’m so glad to add this to the list as well. When I swatched this on the back of my hand, I thought “WOAH. Look at that colour!“.

Dermalogica Overnight Retinol Repair: Bridging That Gap Between Low-Grade Retinol and The Super Concentrated Stuff

Dermalogica Overnight Retinol Repair

Over a year ago, I wrote about a good starter retinol serum that’s great for anyone who’s ready to dip their toes into the wonderful world of retinol. It’s still a good serum and still one that I would happily recommend but if you’d like to try out a retinol serum that’s slightly more concentrated that the 0.1% one but don’t want to push too far to 1% retinol yet, here’s a retinol serum that would bridge that gap.

Say hello to Dermalogica’s Overnight Retinol Repair!

Does Scent In Beauty Products Affect Your Buying/Using Decisions?

Scent in Beauty Products

I wrote about a body lotion that smells practically of nothing yesterday and today I thought I’d explore our preference of scents in beauty products further. I’m not just talking about added fragrance in skincare, makeup, body care and haircare; it’s more of the overall scent in them in particular. As you’re aware, even fragrance-free beauty products have some sort of scent in them. Give them a whiff and you’ll know what I mean.

When a beauty product has expired, oxidised or simply has gone off, its scent often tells us it’s time to chuck said product into the bin. But what if the product is still working properly but you’re just not in love with the scent anymore? What if it starts to repel you?

Would you still keep using it? Or would you bin it as well?
