Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon Blush Harmony, Thou Art Beautiful And Thou Art Mine!

Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon Blush Harmony

When I first saw a photo of this blush on Pinterest, I fell head over heels in love. Mind you, it wasn’t even a picture of the actual product; it was just a stock photo! I posted a picture of this on the BA Facebook page and many of you salivated over the stock image alone together with me. 😛 Needless to say, it went immediately into the “I MUST BUY THIS” list.

To be honest, I was half-expecting this blush to be sold out by the time I hit the stores because really, why wouldn’t it be? In fact, when I reached the Chanel counter at MYER, I immediately blurted to the sales assistant “do you have any more of this blush left because I NEED it!” To my surprise, she said yes we have a lot left. I don’t know why I felt a bit deflated then. 😛

Oh stuff it, it’s mine. Mine! And by George, it’s a beauty.

Bloggie Wednesday: Do You Blog About Cosmetics That Are Tested On Animals?

Bloggie Wednesday: Do You Blog About Cosmetics That Are Tested On Animals?

Believe it or not, this blog post has been sitting in my Drafts folder for four years. FOUR YEARS! That’s how hard it is for me to decide on whether to publish it or not. Cruelty-free cosmetics have evolved greatly since then and while I haven’t moved completely to writing about cruelty-free beauty products only, I’m glad that I’m using more officially certified cruelty-free beauty products these days than I did back then.

It would be an insult to your intelligence to say that I only use cruelty-free cosmetics when clearly, in the products that I use and review on BA, I don’t. This is a hard topic to write about but it’s the elephant in the room that beauty bloggers don’t talk about.

I think it’s time we talk about it.

Gee, talk about opening a can of worms. This is the sort of topic that can either go well or spiral downwards quicker than you can say “how do you do”. Nevertheless, it’s a topic that has been on my mind for a while now and I believe this is something we can all sit down and discuss like adults without throwing rotten eggs at each other.

If you’ve been reading Beautyholics Anonymous for more than a week, you’ll know that, straight up, yes I do blog about products from brands that do test on animals. I don’t deny it; heck it’s out there for the world to see. Does this mean I’m completely fine with animal testing in cosmetics?

Frame Those Peepers With Wayne Goss’ The Brow Set

Wayne Goss The Brow Set

When I unboxed Beautylish’s 2016 Fukubukuro Lucky Bag, I was mighty chuffed to see a set of Wayne Goss makeup brushes. It was utterly unexpected as Wayne Goss’ makeup brushes are usually very expensive. The set I received was the Brow Set, which comprises an angled eyebrow brush, a spoolie and a comb/brush duo. Needless to say, they were put to good use very quickly.

Prior to the Brow Set, I’ve only had one Wayne Goss makeup brush, and that’s Brush 00 (formerly known as The Holiday Brush in 2013 and 2014). It’s a tapered face brush and the goat hair is incredibly soft. The only issue I had with it was that even after a year of regular use and weekly cleansing, it still bled grey dye. The bleeding has stopped now, thank goodness. That brush was US$85, which was a real whopper, which is why you can imagine my excitement when I received another item from Wayne Goss, and this time, it was in a set of three.

Travel Minis: Awesome Creations Or A Waste of Money?

Travel Mini Beauty Products

Okay, straight up, I love travel minis. Love. I’m a huge sucker for them and I won’t deny that I’ve picked up 1-2 mini travel items when I’m queueing on the way to the checkout counter more than I can count. Marketers are pretty damn clever for creating a “queuing area” with shelves stocked with cute goodies that customers drop into their shopping baskets at the spur of the moment.

And I fall for it every. Single. Time. 😛
