Bloggie Wednesday: My Two Favourite Places To Get Blogging (And Non-Blogging) Freebies

Bloggie Wednesday: My Two Favourite Places To Get Blogging (And Non-Blogging) Freebies

A show of hands … who loves freebies? Actually, I should be asking, who DOESN’T love a freebie? Haha yep, I thought so. Everyone loves a good freebie! 😛

I’m constantly on the search for beautiful designs for my web development work and for my blog. The problem is, most of the time, these designs aren’t free. As much as I’d like to support artists and graphic designer’s works, I don’t have unlimited financial resources to buy them all. This means that I need to resort to free images and designs whenever possible.

Today I thought I’d share my two favourite places to get blogging and non-blogging freebies. If you’re looking for free images, designs, blog themes, printables and much more, you don’t have to look very far. These two websites are my go-to for all these and more.

Paula’s Choice RESIST 1% Retinol Booster: Is It Possible Like And Dislike It At The Same Time?

Paula's Choice Resist 1% Retinol Booster

The discovery of retinol has changed my skin. I’m not talking about the strong prescription-only stuff as I don’t think I need those; it’s the over-the-counter stuff that has made a vast difference on my skin. To think I took so long to finally give retinol a go. I actually thought it was going to burn my skin off!

I’ve used several retinol products over the course of 2 years and found that the higher the concentration of retinol in the product, the better my skin turns out. I’ve only used one 1% retinol prior to this but as I had to have it shipped over from the US, I thought I’d give the Paula’s Choice one a go instead, which I can get from the Australian online store. The RESIST 1% Retinol Booster also, as its name goes, contains 1% retinol. That percentage has proven good results on my skin and I expected the same of Paula’s Choice’s as well.

Alas, it’s not really my cup of tea. At least, not physically.

Giving My First Taiwanese Sunscreen A Go With UNT’s UV Total SPF50 (Don’t Forget The 4 Stars!)

UNT UV Total SPF 50

I’ve tried Japanese sunscreens. I’ve even dabbled with Korean sunscreens. It’s no secret here on BA that I’m a fan of them. They’re ultra-light, don’t leave a ghastly white cast on the skin and did I say, they’re really, really light? Well, today I’m going to talk about a new sunscreen I came across and this time, it’s a Taiwanese sunscreen!

In terms of Taiwanese skincare, I’ve only tried Naruko. As for facial sheet masks, L’Herboflore and My Beauty Diary masks are the bomb. To be honest, I’ve never heard of the brand UNT until a friend of mine started working there. Thanks to her, I had the opportunity to give some of their products a go. One of them is the UV Total SPF50.

The First Fragrance I Fell In Love With

Elizabeth Arden Fifth Avenue

Do you remember the very first fragrance you fell in love with? Or when it was that you first sprayed perfume on yourself and went “oh my goodness, why haven’t I used this before??” I can’t remember how old I was when I first tried perfume on myself but I was certainly much older than most when I started wearing perfume regularly. I only started using perfume daily when I hit my mid 20s.

Back in school, my classmates and most of the girls in school would be drowning in CK One. There was such much CK One in the air that I didn’t even feel like I needed to wear perfume at all because I would come home smelling like I had that fragrance on all day. To be honest, I really disliked that fragrance, which was why even with peer pressure, I never succumbed to it. In fact, the very first fragrance I fell in love with was a perfume that belonged to my mother.
