Happy weekend, folks!
Remember when I told you about how aloof Janey was with Tim for the first few weeks of bringing her home? I’m happy to report that things are much better now. Things have turned around and she’s happy to go out with him for her nightly potty now without me. Yep, I’m still celebrating the small victories.
Anyway, something funny happened a few weeks ago and I thought I’d share it with you. Oh yeah, there’ll be plenty of Janey stories to share if you’re up for it. 🙂
A few Mondays ago, after Tim left for work, I went back to my home office to get started on my work for the day. I usually leave the crate door open because she’ll usually just stay in there and nap. After a few minutes, I heard a rustling sound but figured she was simply stretching her legs. An hour later, I came out and found a pair of Tim’s shorts in the crate, under her. She’s been napping on his shorts the whole time!
Tim must have accidentally left a pair of shorts on the floor that I’ve missed. She picked it up, brought it back to the crate and slept on it. I was so amused when I saw it so I took it away and, accidentally-on-purpose, dropped it on the floor as I went back to the room. A few minutes later, I heard the same rustling again. She picked it up again and took it back to the crate!
This happened a few more times and I couldn’t help but burst out in laughter. I told Tim “she must really miss you when you’re away that she needs your shorts in her crate“. He laughed it off and said “ah that naughty girl” but trust me, it warmed his heart tremendously.
And that concludes the tale of Janey and the Shorts. 😛
Aww, that’s so cute. Dogs like things that smell like their people. 🙂 I have a feeling he might have trouble getting his shorts back though!

Hahaha few weeks later, she did it again! I found his t-shirt in her crate! 😛
Aww that’s so cute how animals pick up on our scents and want to be with us!

Haha he did but a few weeks later, he did lose a t-shirt to her. Found it (and the doorstopper) in her crate!

Today I found a pair of his socks in her crate, which she probably found on the floor where Tim dropped the socks. Is she trying to tell me I have to tidy up the place more? 😛
She is so adorable la. I think Tim must be so happy that Janey has finally taken to him 🙂
Oh he is. He pretends he doesn’t but he does. He wouldn’t be volunteering to walk her, take her out for her potty, make her dinner, etc if he doesn’t. 😉
Aw, that is SO cute!
I believe it is recommended for you to give your dog something of “you” they can keep in their crate/bed. Makes them feel like you’re always there (’cause of your scent) and keeps them feeling very safe. I gave my dog an old t-shirt for her bed when we first got her. 🙂
Glad to hear everything is going well with Janey! If you need any advice let me know (not that I’m an expert but I’ve had dogs almost all my life so I’ll be happy to share tips!)

Thanks Renee! We’re going for a holiday this year and it saddens me greatly that I can’t bring her along. Will have to put her in a dog hotel. I’m planning for Tim and I to sleep on a towel for a week or something and then pack it with her when she goes for boarding. That way, she’ll still be able to smell us 🙂
Actually I do need some advice. What do you do when dogs tug at the leash? Janey tugs and pulls at the leash every time we walk her. It’s like she’s walking us and not the other way round. I’ve tried stopping every time she tugs, which makes our walks very short in distance but very long in time. She doesn’t get it that I don’t want her to tug at the leash. There’s just too many distractions outside. It’s not like I don’t bring her out. Heck, I take her outside for potty 4 times a day! Sigh.
Awww… such a sweet story…Dogs are so loving…Makes me want to get one now!
