Talking Scents: The Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus

The Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus Eau de Toilette

The Fijian Water Lotus is a new range of body products for The Body Shop. I had my first sniff of the fragrance at a recent event held by The Body Shop. Even though the presentation was concentrated on the Christmas packs, my mind (and nose!) couldn’t help but wander to the Fijian Water Lotus range.

It was love at first sniff, all right. By the time the event was over, I purchased a small set of the Fijian Water Lotus eau de toilette and body lotion just to bring home and try. It has only been a few weeks since I bought it and I’m already halfway through!

This EDT contains notes of water lotus and frangipani accords for, as The Body Shop puts it, a breeze of fragrance from the Pacific. I’m usually not a fan of frangipani scents at all but the funny thing is, I didn’t smell it with this fragrance. All I know it’s that it’s an incredibly fresh, aquatic scent that really does remind me of the sea breeze. And you know my knees turn to putty when I’m hit with aquatic scents. 😛

It’s been a while since I’ve really enjoyed non-fruity fragrances from The Body Shop and I’m glad this caught my fancy. It’s not an expensive fancy-schmancy fragrance but when something makes you smell good, that’s all that matters (at least, in the nose zone), right? By the way, the Fijian Water Lotus range isn’t a part of the limited edition Christmas scents but a new addition to the overall TBS range.

The mini EDT retails at AU$9.95 for 10ml (it’s the one I have) and the 50ml at AU$27.95. I have a feeling that I’ll be picking the 50ml one up before long!

Have you tried this range by The Body Shop? Does anyone remember the time when The Body Shop introduced a wide range of fragrances that you can personalise? The ones that come in small tubes?

Not sure if singapore’s TBS is carrying it. Might have to pop by a store to check it out! Sounds like it might be a promising dupe for crabtree’s la source. Heh

Haha I wouldn’t call it a dupe to Crabtree’s La Source. They’re different fragrances altogether, although I’d say if you like the La Source, you might like this one too. 🙂

I sniffed this one at my local bodyshop in Singapore! Even though I can appreciate the scent, i personally go for more warm, sweet/woodsy/spicy scents. And yes i DO remember those and wish they’ll bring them back.
i really liked Altaro and Aztique from that range, and Jasmine Neroli (that has been discontinued). The current Indian Jasmine range simply does not smell the same!

I’m the opposite from you; I don’t got for warm scents! 😛 Ah I remember those scents that you mentioned. Have you sniffed the Red Musk? Oh that one is lovely! I’m not a fan of the White Musk but the Red Musk is something I could definitely go for.

Yes, I’ve sniffed Red Musk at the Body Shop and its definitely something I’d go for!
My signature scent is Burberry Britt EDT, although I don’t use it as frequently in the middle of the year as its way too hot and humid in Singapore 😀

Ah I know the one! I prefer the Burberry Sheer (have a massive 100ml bottle which I’ve yet to finish) but the Brit is lovely too. 🙂
