I’ve heard of Mavala nail polishes many times but I had no idea they do lip glosses as well. So when one of the lip glosses landed on my desk for review, I was quite curious to see how it measures up. The one that I’ll be doing a quick review on today is in Mandarine.
The Mandarine is a very sheer shade of orange with sparkling gold shimmer. When I applied it on my lips, there was barely any change in colour. As for the texture, boy, it sure is one very sticky lip gloss. It reminds me of old school lipgloss that feels rather drying and very tacky on the lips.
In short, it was disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend wearing the lip gloss on its own; it looks better when applied over a layer of lipstick. But really, the stickiness and drying factors make this a no-go for me.
I say stick to the Mavala nail polishes instead. Now those are pretty good. As for the lip glosses, I’m giving the rest a miss as well because they just don’t cut the mustard for me.
Mavala lip glosses come in 6 shades (all named after fruits), retail at AU$24.50 each and are available at selected pharmacies nationally.
I love Mavala nail polishes. What a shame their lipglosses don’t live up to them. 🙁
