Picture the scenario: you’re supposed to be attending a party after work and you intend to jazz your makeup up for the event. However, you accidentally left your makeup bag at home and you’re only left with a lippie buried somewhere in your bag. Well, Face of Australia has your back. Pop on over to Priceline and pick up one of their limited edition Eye Do palettes and you’ll be A-okay.
Okay, lame advertisement intro aside (as you can tell, I can’t do copywriting worth nuts), Face of Australia did come up with 2 limited edition eyeshadow palettes that don’t just come with 3 eyeshadows, each palette also comes with a small tube of mascara and a set of false eyelashes. I thought it was a rather clever idea and certainly something to keep at the office, gym locker, etc for the times when you need a quick touch up without needing to lug eyeshadows in your bag all the time.
I’m going to show you the Eye Do palette in Party Nights today. It’s the darker palette of the two to create a heavier smokey eye. To be honest, the dark blue eyeshadow was a disappointment as it was actually quite sheer. I expected it to be richer in pigment but when I applied it with a makeup brush, all I had was a sheer wash of bluish grey on the lids. Here’s a tip if you’re using this palette on the go: use your finger to pat the eyeshadow on the lids instead of an eyeshadow brush or the enclosed sponge applicator. The colour becomes more dense and intense, and definitely looks better than just a sheer wash of colour.
As I’m still rubbish at applying false eyelashes, I didn’t put the enclosed ones on for this review. I did test it out on my lash line though and boy, these eyelashes are crazy long and intense! If you want natural-looking lashes, these falsies won’t work as they’re meant to look very va-va-voom. I ended up just using the mascara which was actually quite good.
All in all, for AU$10.00 a palette, they’re not bad. They’re not fantastic eyeshadow palettes, mind you, but in a pinch, they work and are definitely cheaper than having to buy eyeshadows, falsies and mascara separately. I wish the eyeshadow quality was better though. If they were, these would be great palettes.

Love the idea of emergency eye kits with just about everything you need! Very cute. And I love the smokey eye look you created. Looks like you definitely got around the sheer wash of color problem!

Thanks lovely! For the photos, I had pack it on like nobody’s business! That’s why I said the applicators and makeup brushes would be useless with this one. Just use the fingers. 😛
These look amazing. You look smoking hot Tine 🙂
Awesome EOTD.
