Nourish Your Tresses With Argan Oil, No Matter What Season It Is (Including A Giveaway At The End!)

THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

Sydney

Many of you would have noticed that a few months ago, I chopped my hair off. It’s not a big deal to some but to me, it was. I’ve had the same long and wavy hairstyle for the past 7 years and I barely made any changes to it because I figured it was simply easier to maintain. On bad hair days, I could just tie it up or make it into a loose bun. On good hair days (which were seldom), I’d leave it hanging loosely on my shoulders.

The problem with my hair is, it’s very thick. Each strand of hair is wiry, coarse and uneven. My hair is very dry and incredibly prone to frizz. The only way I could make it look relatively presentable when I step out of my house is to use a flat iron on it. Each time I wash my hair, I iron it the next morning.

So you can imagine what sort of quality my hair has turned into all these years. It’s not only straightened every other day, it’s coloured too. If hair could talk, I imagine mine would be screaming “LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE!“.

When I finally decided to cut my hair short, I didn’t go for the chop immediately. I had it cut from boob-length to shoulder-blade length. Now, it’s hugging my neck and barely touching my shoulders. What a breath of fresh air it was to not have all that awfully-damaged hair anymore.

I’ve been using a lot of argan oil to nourish my hair ever since it’s gotten the chop. I’ve used heaps of argan oil in the past and it did help in nourishing my hair, as damaged as it was before. Now that I’ve gotten rid of those horrid split ends (I had many that split to the middle of my hair. Imagine that, at boob-length!), I’m making damn sure to keep my current hair as protected and nourished as possible. I haven’t been using the flat iron much either. These days, I’m keeping it to only 1-2 times a week when I would have used it 3-4 times a week before.

There are plenty of argan oil products out there and you can get them as cheaply or as expensive as you want for your hair. If you haven’t tried them out before, I highly recommend that you do. After using argan oil for so many years, I did realise one thing and that’s to use it sparingly (the actual oil, not the shampoo and conditioners that contain the oil). If you use too much of argan oil on your hair, it will weigh it down, make it look greasy and lanky and sometimes, it can even smell like something’s burning when you run your flat iron on your hair. When it comes to argan oil, a little goes a long way.

It doesn’t matter what season you’re in; whether it’s winter, summer, autumn or spring, you should always keep your crowning glory silky, soft and most importantly, as healthy as it can be. Why not have a hair mask on while you’re having your face mask on too? Cover your hair masked-hair with a shower cap to prevent drips, slap a face mask on and do your thing. After 30 minutes, not only your face will look and feel good, so will your hair.

Hi Tine, I think my hair is in pretty good shape, I try to not wash it everyday because it seems to make my roots oily, so every second or third day works for me. I always use a heat protector spray before I blow dry or use a hair straightener, the main issue I have with my hair is probably the style. I am not adventurous at all and have had the same boring style for over 10 years!
Thanks for the opportunity to enter this great give away 🙂

  2. Guia

Hi Tine, When I was younger, my main concern was frizz. I had very thick, unruly, frizzy, unmanageable hair. It was quite popular then to have hair chemically straightened so I had it straightened every 6 months. Now I notice my hair is getting thinner..must be from years of colouring and straightening..but still very frizzy. I have tried heaps of products but nothing seems to fix it.

  3. FilipinaMacBarbie

I hair color treated hair so I always have to keep it maintained and nourished.

  4. Kathryn Santic

Breakage is my biggest issue, especially around my jawline. My hair is blonde and even though I only get my regrowth blonded every 4-5 weeks (not the ends), the ends are dry and brittle. I’d love it to be as thick and strong as it used to be but I think that’s an impossible dream while blonde.

  5. Jac

Omg, my flyaways are crazy right now!! I’ve got a GHD coming in the mail so hopefully that’ll fix it right up 🙂 I try to not wash my hair too often and now I wash it about twice a week! (as opposed to daily) Gosh I have so much free time now 😮

  6. Melanie

Grey hair is a pain, but hair dye makes my hair dry, pantane hair mask helps to moisturise it, leaving it soft and shiny.

  7. Ria Compra-Wennas

I’ve got naturally thin curly frizzy hair and had it Japanese straightened several times. It made my hair brittle so I had to chopped until all the chemically treated hair is gone. It took years before I had my natural hair back. Now I’m embracing my hair with the help of mythical oil. And whenever I blow dry it, I always use heat protector.

  8. Merryl

I have long, fine hair that breaks easily. My main problem is lack of volume. Argan Oil is supposed to help with this, so I’d love to win this pack and see if it improves my hair.

  9. Ally E

Oh, where do I start? I’m Eurasian, and have had the fortune of inheriting both wild, thick curls (think Merida from Brave) and the dry Asian hair. No matter what I do, it looks frizzy, dry and from the frizziness, actually changes colour. Even my trusty GHD can’t make it sleek without spending an hour on it. I’ve tried almost everything, so I’d love to win this pack and give it a go!

  10. Adriennel

Lack of volume! I used to have split ends with split ends (could almost do an arithmetic progression model out of it) but applying some argan oil after washing my hair seemed to help. I suppose getting a trim more frequent than twice a year helped too hahaha.

  11. Fei

I always have splitends, and it’s worse when my hair is longer. While I do trim my hair every now and then, it’s not a permanent fix

  12. Shantini

I got serious issues with my hair. It breaks easily, it’s falling out alot, it’s dry at the end, its oily at the scalp, its damaged on some parts, its wiry, in short I have problematic hair! I have tried quite a bit of hair products but nothing has come to the rescue yet so please help! I would so cut my hair shorter to end my hair problems, but I have a round face, woe.

  13. Saumya

I would want help in the volume department. I dont have a lot of hair.

My hair is dry and damaged after years and years of chemical from regular hair coloring, especially the ends. I probably need another drastic chop to have a fresh start over again, which I do every few years.

  15. Wavy Flower

Hi Tine I see now you’ve gorgeous hair. Well I really feel you coz I have thick, coarse, unruly frizzy, wavy, wiry (what better word to describe) hair.

  16. Sharon Wong

Thanks for the awesome giveaway Tine! 🙂
My hair is quite frizzy and dry especially at the ends. Not to mention split ends! I have too many of them! I wish I can get hair treatments more often, I only do them once or twice a year.
