When I first saw mentions of this blush circulating the beauty blogosphere, all I could think of was “oh yeah I gotta get me a piece of that!“. You know me, I’m the kind who’s easily suckered into pretty packaging (heck, just look at my makeup and stationery collection and you’ll know what I mean) so even though I have way too many blushes to literally cover more than my entire backside, I picked one up from Adore Beauty when I received a “We Miss You” email and discount.
Ahh gotta love those sort of emails, right? 😉
Anyway, let’s get back to the blush. I know it’s chunky but the cuteness factor? Multiply that by 100 and you’ll get the Majorette.
The Majorette has a cream-to-powder finish so this will not look sheen-y on the skin. It’s a sheer coral blush but buildable to a stronger pop of colour if you wish without it looking cakey on the skin. I like to use my fingers to apply the blush as it gives a lovely, natural finish. The blush has a fruity scent to it which I find quite pleasant. There’s a hidden magnetic strip in the scalloped orange fringe around the blush so it’s easy to open and close.
In terms of lasting power, I’d give this a mid-range to a low score. This doesn’t last all day for me. By the end of the day, most of the blush would already have disappeared. If you want good lasting power, I’d say check out Revlon cream blushes because those stay put. Sadly, this one doesn’t. The embossed design is cute and all but after using the blush for a few times, it’s pretty much gone now.
Still, it’s a very cute blush to have in your collection if you’re a blush collector like me (hello, have we met?? 😛 ). It reminds me of a macaron when held in my hand. Since it’s quite bulky, I wouldn’t exactly call it travel-friendly but in terms of prettifying your vanity area with this blush? Oh yes!
Benefit’s Majorette Blush retails at AU$51.00 and is available at Benefit counters and Adore Beauty.
What I like about it: Cute packaging, lovely finish on the skin, pleasant fruity scent.
What I do not like about it: Doesn’t last long on the skin.
Oooh it does look lovely on you! I fronted up at the Benefit counter with full intentions of grabbing it, but when I tried it, it came up a bit ‘meh’ on me, and I just couldn’t justify $51 on a blush that I just felt ‘meh’ about. The packaging is so cute though. Is it also meant to be a ‘blush booster’ as well or something like that? I probably should have tried another blush over the top just to see what it would have come out like, maybe that’s when it would have been amazing on me ha.

Oh I know what you mean! I wouldn’t be able to fork out that much money for a meh blush or meh anything either! Yeah, it’s meant to have another blush over it or something but really, if I need another blush on top of another blush, what’s the point of buying the bottom blush? 😛
What a cute brush! Too bad it doesn’t last longer on the skin.

It IS a pity, isn’t it? Lovely packaging though and you know I’m such a sucker for it. 😛
I saw it at Sephora yesterday and it is definitely a cute blush. Unfortunately it is retailing at RM115 in Malaysia and if you say it does not even last that long, I cannot justify the purchase even with a 20% discount for members. LOL. By the way, I love how fresh you look in the photos. Must be the way you style your hair 🙂
Nah, I wouldn’t spend that much money on this one. Very very pretty packaging yes, but lasting power doesn’t justify the price.
Aww thanks lovely! Chopping my hair off helped. Hee hee hee! 😀
