Do You Save The Good Stuff For Yourself?

Kleenex Aloe Vera Tissues

Last week, I saw Cheryl‘s tweet on how fantastic 3-ply aloe vera tissues were on stuffed noses and this was my reply to her tweet:

This made me wonder … do you save the good stuff for yourself like I do?

You see, the thing is, while I use cheapie 2-ply tissues from Aldi for the living room, kitchen, bathroom and home office, I use the pricier 3-ply Kleenex Aloe Vera or Hypoallergenic tissues for the bedroom. I can’t imagine spending so much on high-quality tissues but somehow, I need to have the good stuff in the bedroom, particularly by my bedside table.

I can’t remember when it was that I started to switch to the fancy stuff. I reckon it must be during a particularly bad bout of flu and after creating “dumplings” with tissues no thanks to my congested nose, there’s only so much crappy, scratchy tissues my nose could take.

L'Occitane Lavender Hand Wash

In the bathroom, you’ll see fancier hand washes by the sink but in the kitchen, you’ll get the cheaper stuff. I also have the “public” shower gel and my private stash of shower gels. “Public” ones are meant for Tim’s use and my stash would be the *ahem* more expensive, good stuff. I once even hid an expensive bottle of lavender body wash from him. πŸ˜›

Oh I know, I know. So terribly selfish of me, tsk tsk. I can’t help it! Once I accidentally left an expensive bottle of shower gel in the shower, forgot to keep it away and less than a week later, that bottle of shower gel only had 10% left. When I asked him how the heck that happened, he said “oh, when it’s out there in the bathroom for me to see, I assume it’s free for all.“. Bugger, he got me there.

Sigh, what can I say? A girl’s gotta keep some of the good stuff for herself, right? Something luxurious to pamper herself every now and then without having to worry about it being used up like it was Homebrand or something. πŸ˜›

What about you? If you don’t live alone, do you also keep the good stuff for yourself?

YES I DO! At work especially πŸ˜› I have a box of nicer tissues that I tuck away in my drawer for when I have a cold. All other times, I use the cheapy 2-ply tissues supplied by work πŸ˜› And I always get asked for hair ties so I give out the cheapy ones I get from Daiso. The good thick ones, I keep them for myself πŸ˜›

HAHAHAHAHA!! Save the good tissues and hair ties, especially hair ties. Those always disappear to goodness-knows-where. πŸ˜›

Haha all the time! I have nice tissues in my room too and leave the cheap stuff outside!

Naw, my husband is as simple as they come … he doesn’t care about products and will use whatever. Now food on the other hand is a different story. I do hide the Trader Joes Speculoos Cookie & Cocoa Swirl in a little nook in the cabinet – this stuff is mine. No I won’t share πŸ˜›

☺ I am the same. Only yesterday I was telling Mr when you run out of shampoo, you get new one and not start using my expensive shampoo. Same goes for face wash, shower gel.

My husband can’t care less about his skin care products so I keep the good things to myself and give him the ones I don’t like:) The kids use my good hand wash but it’s ok the bottle looks nice in the bathroom. I don’t mind sharing but only if the product means something to my family. If they don’t care then they can use the cheap one πŸ™‚

Hahaha! What I do is I keep the nice bottles of handwash even after they’re finished, e.g. the Aesop handwash. I then decant the cheap stuff (e.g. Lux, Palmolive, etc) into the Aesop handwash bottle and leave it in the kitchen. People think “oh my, how luxe, an Aesop handwash in the kitchen!” And then they squirt out green gel onto their hands. Ooops! πŸ˜›

This made me laugh! I would just die if the hubs used up one of my luxury body washes. Thankfully he is a fusspot and would only use unisex or manly products. My frou frou products are quite a turn off and he usually thinks they smell too sweet.

I caught Tim using my Bath and Body Works shower gel. Even though those are sweet as can be. Ish. Better keep my better ones away from now on since he doesn’t care if the shower gels are sweet or not. πŸ˜›
