THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!
I’m sure a lot of us are familiar with the luxe skincare brand, Sisley. I’ve always likened it to La Mer and La Prairie, where the skincare is a wee bit out of reach for me only because of the price point. Recently, I was introduced to some of the makeup they have and while they’re still considered pretty darn high end along the likes of Chanel and Dior, I’m happy to say that a lot of the makeup are under $100. Still not cheap, mind you, but oh so splurge-worthy. 😛
Given that I can be a bit of a blush fiend, naturally I’d lean towards blushes and that’s what I’d like to share with you today. It’s Sisley’s Phyto-Blush Eclat in #4 Pinky Rose and while I’m not a huge fan of the packaging, I must admit that it’s a beautiful blush. By the way, this isn’t a brand new launch. In fact, the zebra-print Phyto-Blushes were part of the AW ’13 collection last year. Still, they must have been good enough to be a part of Sisley’s permanent makeup range because you’re still able to pick them up in store today.
Let’s talk about the packaging. Now you know I love animal prints. I thought Face of Australia’s Glamazon palettes’ packaging was fun and cute with the zebra and leopard prints. But that’s Face of Australia. I’m not saying that they’re a cheap brand that warrants cheap packaging, no sirree. They’re aimed to be fun and frivilous and at their price range, I say go for it! However, this is Sisley. As in pay-a-lot-of-money Sisley. As in I’d-expect-downright-classy-packaging Sisley. The zebra-print and plastic packaging, quite frankly, doesn’t scream luxe. Maybe it’s just me expecting more out of a high-end brand. Having said that though, the plastic packaging is steady and it does come in a velvet pouch if that helps. For me, I won’t deny, it’s hard.
Now that the negative part is done and dusted, let’s talk about the blush itself. Ah, this is when things get good, really good. I may not be a fan of the zebra-print on the outer shell packaging but the zebra-print pattern embossed on the pressed powder? Oh my, it’s a resounding YES!
The #4 Pinky Rose is just as the name suggests. There are two shades on the blush; the darker pink forms the gist of the blush and the light pink a highlighting shade. When two shades are swirled together and blended on the skin, it becomes a rosy, cool-toned pink. The combined shade becomes a lighter pink so I tend to favour the left side of the blush a bit more just so I get more of the pink shade on my skin. If you use a fluffy blush brush like SUQQU’s cheek brush, you’ll find this blush very sheer. However, if you use a tighter, more firmly-packed brush, you’ll pick up a lot of colour and find it packing a punch in pigment.
As for staying power, it’s pretty good. By the end of the day, I still had most of the blush on my skin. Y’know, fair-skinned folks would love this even more because this will show even more beautifully on their skin. I’m about a halfway shade (usually a Beige – ick, what a word to describe it) so this doesn’t show as clearly and as prettily as it should on my skin.
Sisley Phyto-Blush Éclat blushes come in 5 radiant duos and retail at AU$90.00 each. They’re available exclusively at David Jones stores.
The lovely people at Sisley sent me two blushes to check out and since I’ve already tried mine, they’re happy for me to give the other one away to one of you lovely readers! The one that one lucky winner will get is the #2 Pinky Berry, which is also a very pretty shade. By the way, it’s a brand new blush. I just opened it to photograph what it looks like for you. 🙂

From Australia, and last make up purchase was Benefits Benetint and its a yay 🙂 Don’t know why I waited so long to try it.
Hi Tine. From Melbourne, Australia. Bought the Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation from Priceline last week (the day before your review came out) and it’s a yay for me. 🙂
I’m from Sydney, Australia and the last make up purchase I made was the Maybelline Hyperglossy liquid liner. Its definitely a yay for me as it is the first liner I’ve used that doesn’t smudge on my oily lids – without primer too! It’s not waterproof though but, I’ve noticed that all my waterproof liners smudge like crazy on me so maybe waterproof eyeliners aren’t suitable for me?

Hello Tine. I’m from Malaysia :D. The last makeup purchase is BH Cosmetics’ That’s Heart Eyeshadow & Blush Palette. It is yay for me because the palette consists of eyeshadows, bronzer, highlighter and a blush. It’s convenient to create the whole look. The purchase came with a little bit of drama whereas half of my BH Cosmetics haul was stolen. I make sure I get backup for the palette this time since shipping is not cheap but that was stolen. Oh boy.
Hi Tine, I am from Perth Australia. My last makeup purchase was a huge YAY! I bought the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Dim Light and I love it! It’s my airbrush in a powder, it disguises my enlarged pores and gives me skin that healthy glow with out being too sparkly or glittery. I would love the palette, saving my pennies for that one. Claire x
I’m from Australia and my last purchase was ysl rouge volupte shine in 12 and it is so beautiful!
Since I’ve won one of your giveaways in the past, I won’t enter. But they are beautiful blushes, both shades. I have always wanted to try Sisley, but the price point is high here in the US. When I browse at Neiman-Marcus, I always take a look at what’s new. Some day!

Hi I’m from Malaysia
This blush is absolutely gorgeous! I’m a long time reader from Sydney. My last makeup purchase was Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. Thought it was a waste of money as first but I’m growing to like it 🙂
I’m from Indonesia. My latest purchase was Guerlain Meteorites. After contemplating for so long and reading your reviews on them I finally bit the bullet and get myself one lol. And another tub right after that LOL. I’m hooked.
I feel the same about Sisley packaging – I really love their products, and I know it’s the product that really counts, but the gaudy packaging is a real negative. It’s not just the looks; the construction itself feels kinda rinkydink and breakable.

I’m from Mexico (you’ve already known it).
My last makeup purchase was Clinique’s Stay matte foundation and I like it but it has too reddish undertones to love it, in fact the best way to use it it’s to mix it with moisturizer.
I am from Australia. The last makeup I purchased is a couple of the Maybelline Colour Elixirs – really liking them so far and I am not normally a lip gloss person!

Hi Tine,
I’m from Singapore but currently living in Sydney.
I’ve just started using makeup and that’s how I stumbled onto and started following your blog, and I really want to give the Sisley blush a try because I have such a pale face with no colour on it at all!
The last makeup item I bought was a Bobbi Brown lipstick in Pale Petal which is a rosy pink that I think would really complement the Sisley blush 🙂
Thanks! xx

Hai there! Fellow Malaysian here, and currently in Malaysia for the summer holidays (heatwave in the UK, no air-con + heat ventilated walls = hell). My last purchase was a YSL Fushion Ink foundation (the new one). Hit or miss? hmm… I kinda like it as it really do last (I ‘accidentally’ slept with it still on my face – tiredness), the coverage is nice for such a featherweight texture. Miss: alcohol. stung my skin a little when first applied (maybe too much), but got used to it.

Wow, that looks soooo pretty on you 😀 And pretty in the palette too – I am starting to love blush more as I get older – the lack of colour that I used to love as a goth girl I’ve decided is a little aging, so am starting to dip my toe more and more into blusher trials….
Answers to questions:
1. Australia
2. A Maybelline Master Precise Ink pen liquid liner – OMGosh its good! Its everything I wanted the Stila liquid liner felt tip liners to be, and some. Completely and utterly in love – a liner that stays on all day, smudges a tiny touch when first put on but then doesn’t budge, and gives a thin enough line to make me look less ill but not fully made up and tarty for everyday. Huraah!
