Let Your Skin Sleep Well With Puretopia’s Sleep and Renew Night Face Moisturiser

Puretopia Sleep and Renew Night Face Moisturiser

I don’t normally use or talk about a lot of “natural” skincare on the blog because unfortunately, most of them don’t really work for me. I use quotes in “natural” because a lot of the skincare products that claim to be natural aren’t really natural. Hmm, tell you what, I’ll just use the term “plant-based” skincare instead, how’s that? You’ll know what I mean when I say natural then when I really mean they’re plant-based products.

The reason most of them don’t really work for me is that they’re often too rich for my skin. I currently tried one out from a popular skincare brand (I won’t mention what it is now but you’ll know soon enough) and, I kid you not, each time I used it, I broke out. I’ve also tried skincare from another more popular natural skincare brand and as much as people rave about it, I just couldn’t get their products to work on my skin. In the end, I gave up.

Puretopia Sleep and Renew Night Face Moisturiser Ingredients

When the Puretopia Sleep and Renew Night Face Moisturiser landed on my desk for review, I was very apprehensive in using it. What if it’s too rich for my skin? Worse, what if it breaks me out? I gingerly used it the first night. All was good. Then the second night. All was good again.

I ended up using it nightly throughout the heart of winter and it turned out, it’s a pretty good moisturiser!

Puretopia Sleep and Renew Night Face Moisturiser

First of all, it smells great. It has a very relaxing scent of lavender which is simply lovely to use at night. It’s lightweight and absorbs onto the skin quickly. Having said that, it does make my skin look a tad shiny after an hour or two but since it’s used in the evenings when I’m home, it doesn’t really bother me.

My skin gets very dehydrated in winter and I often get dry peely patches on my cheeks, around my mouth and chin. This moisturiser was rich enough to keep the peeliness at bay while leaving my skin hydrated and moisturised all night. Best of all, I didn’t experience any skin irritations or breakouts.

I most likely will not use this moisturiser when it isn’t winter because even though it’s not a very thick and heavy moisturiser, I have a strong feeling it will be too rich in the warmer months. As a winter moisturiser though, it works really well on my oily-combo skin. This moisturiser is catered towards normal to dry skin so if your skin leans towards the dry side, I recommend checking this out. It’s a simple yet decent moisturiser that gets a thumbs up from me. 🙂

Puretopia Sleep and Renew Night Face Moisturiser

Puretopia Sleep and Renew Night Face Moisturiser retails at AU$14.99 for 50ml and is available at leading pharmacies nationwide.

What I like about it: A good, affordable and lightweight night cream that moisturises the skin well. Also has a very calming scent.

What I do not like about it: While this is a great winter moisturiser, it’ll be too rich for my skin come the warmer months.

Have you tried any skincare products by Puretopia? Were there any standouts? Do you prefer to use natural skincare?
