Beauty Multitaskers: Yay or Nay?

Beauty Multitaskers

Time is a precious commodity. We don’t seem to have enough of it these days. What little time we do have for ourselves, we use it for rest and sleep. When I first started working, I’d wake up very early in the morning to get my “game face” on. It was early days of course because come a year or two later, haha forget it. I’d push the boundaries of the snooze button on my alarm clock (those were pre-smartphone days when I still literally had to use a small alarm clock) just to get more sleep. That “game face” still stayed the same but what changed was the use of what I called beauty multitaskers. I could still get my “game face” on with less products and less time.

Less time used to create the “game face” = more time to sleep. WIN. 😛

I love beauty multitaskers. Compact foundations that replace liquid foundation and powder? Check. Tinted sunscreen to replace foundation? Check. Tinted brow gel to replace a brow pencil and wax to keep the brows in place? Check. One blush that can be used for the cheeks AND lips? Check.

You get my drift.

Beauty Multitaskers

I used to make the mistake of skipping sunscreen and just using foundation with SPF many years ago. I thought it was enough and that I had SPF protection from the foundation. That was one beauty multitasking mistake I made and to date, it’s one beauty multitasker I don’t take advantage of. I’ll still apply a layer of sunscreen before applying foundation with or without sunscreen. Using foundations with SPF alone doesn’t have sufficient UV protection.

But other than that, oh yes I take advantage of beauty multitaskers all right. Stick foundations that can double up as concealer? But of course. Clear brow gel as a quick clear mascara? Why not? Guerlain Meteorites finishing powder as setting powder? It works for me!

What about you? Do you like beauty multitaskers? Or do you prefer going through each step of your beauty routine properly?

Multitaskers are good for travel to be honest. Other times, if I’m at work and I don’t feel like putting my game face on, I don’t put my game face on. Tinted moisturiser (less blending), concealer, powder and lipbalm. I won’t even bother with contact lenses (i.e. today) but I do make it up by having nicer accessories to counter the blah face. A statement piece of accessory is always a win by my books (chunky bracelet/bright belt on a dark outfit/bright bag/to-die-for scarf/statement ring)

For me, blogger events, for sure I have to up my game face even more. But I’ve learned to pare it down when I fly interstate, especially when I have to leave the house at 5am. Exactly like you said, add statement piece of accessory and people usually forget if you don’t have mascara on or something. 😛

The success of BB & CC creams alone make me think that multitaskers, if they’re the right ones, can be a success. I have a couple of cheek/lip stains and sticks that I use sometimes. I also have a lipliner that’s the perfect eyebrow pencil shade for me. So, I guess I’d say yes!

Oh yeah those are great multitaskers especially if you find really good coverage BB creams. I find myself leaving concealer out when I use those sort of BB creams. One less item to use!

I love the idea of multitasking products, but they rarely perform well in my experience. 2 in 1 shampoo rarely condition enough, moisturizers with SPF don’t offer enough sun protection… they often fall short in an area or another. But when you find something that does everything well, that’s a real gem!

Oh yeah, that’s one beauty multitasker that doesn’t work for me at all, the 2-in-1 shampoo-conditioner. Moisturisers with SPF to me are like … your point is? Separate sunscreen, always!

I can totally relate to this! I used to spend so much time and use so many products – these days I love a good multitask product!
I’m really enjoying BB creams lately : )

BB creams, especially the high coverage ones, are fab!
