When it comes to packing, I usually leave my clothes, accessories and so on to the last minute. However, the one set of items I always prepare well in advance is to plan what toiletries I want to bring with me for when I travel. It’s a fun thing to do and gives me something to look forward to, which is the holiday! π
My luggage. Smaller than my usual one this time.
Toiletries-packing took longer than I expected this time. I need my skin to look its best for the two weddings I’ll be attending but that also means packing what I’m currently using. I wasn’t keen on bringing and using skincare sample sachets with me especially if I’ve not used the products before (don’t want to break out before the big events!).
My Wicked Sista toiletries bag
So this time, I compromised on bringing a few of my favourite skincare items; a couple of them are full-sized and I managed to get deluxe samples of a couple more that aren’t. The most important element in my skincare regime are my serums, which is why I decided to bring the full-sized bottles instead of decanting them.
My travel toiletries laid out prettily on my dressing table
Facial sheet masks are a must to keep skin well hydrated!
As for the rest, I’m happy to buy any of the skincare items I run out of, e.g. sunscreen, shower gel, facial wash, hair products, etc. All of my haircare products come in sachets this time. This will slowly make my toiletries bag lighter come the end of the holiday. π
Unfortunately, I forgot to seal a couple of the decanted IKEA bottles carefully which meant a bit of a facial wash explosion in my toiletries bag. Lesson learned: keep liquid-y products in plastic bags before putting them in the toiletries bag. Thank goodness it wasn’t the bottle of cleansing oil that exploded. That would have been a pain in the backside to clean. *shudder*
An obligatory in-my-room selfie. π
How do you pack your toiletries when you travel? Do you bring full-sized products or are everything in sample sachets and jars? Are there any skincare items you wouldn’t compromise on when travelling?
Full size all the way for me :D. I feel incomplete travelling with sachet or trial size. Maybe I am paranoid about running out of anything hehe

Hahahaha I know what you mean! I had to use the SKII Stempower so sparingly just so that tiny tub can last me 5 weeks. I finally finished the last drop on the very last day! π
Man I have to re-think my travel skincare regime. 4 weeks…and I know I have to pack my serums & cleansers. ARGH!!! Sometimes I do wish I was a man – cleanse, tone, moisturise or not at all.

Hehehe thanks Anusha! It’s actually my husband’s exercise top. It’s the only comfy sleeveless top I could find in my wardrobe in Penang because it was so hot!
You look SO cute *hugs*

Aww thanks sweets. Looking forward to reading about your awesome trip! x
I see a some familiar favourites in your stash π I usually prefer to bring full-sized products because I think there will be wastage if I were to decant them. But I do decant my shampoo, conditioner and shower gel because the full-sized items would be to heavy to bring along.
I also decanted my favourite perfume in the Travalo bottle. Still feel there was some wastage as I believe some of the perfume evaporated gradually. So I think the next time I will probably just load on the sample perfumes or buy those smaller size bottles from Body Shop or Yves Rocher.
I remember there was quite a bit of spillage from my hair serum oil because I forgot to put it in a plastic bag. I had to spend time cleaning my entire make up bag and the other bottles of skin care items from the oil residue. Plus the oil serum was not cheap to begin with and it was such a bummer to see so much wastage π
Yeah I know what you mean. My precious Cetaphil that’s supposed to last me at least a month spilled en route to KL and dirtied my whole toiletries bag (hence why it’s hanging off the back of the door as it’s drying after I had to give it a good wash). Thank goodness my mum had extra I could top up. Wrapped it up with plastic bag tightly for the next leg of the trip and thank goodness, no more spills.
Wow!!! You have great products. Love that cute bag of yours. They are indeed essential when travelling. No wonder why you bring all of them.

Thanks Jules! They are essentials indeed. π
Same here Tine! Packing my toiletries first before clothing and everything else! LOL… My bag was 0.5kg lighter than when I first left for my trip! Coz of all those samples/sachets that I tossed after the trip.
Hahaha my toiletries alone was over 1kg when I left for the trip. On the last day before I came back to Melbourne, I got rid of at least 600g! π
it would be sample sachets for me because I always like to travel lightly, hihihi…. unless of course if like you, I have special events to attend to…. π
Me too! Short holidays that don’t have any special events to attend, I just use up my sample sachets. Can’t be stuffed to be bring the heavy stuff π
Me too!Packing toiletries will be the first thing that I will do if I’m going for travelling after I write out my list. Thanks for sharing this post~ May I know how did the green bottle of Aqualabel serum work on your skin? Is it nice?
I love that Aqualabel serum. Actually it’s more of a spot fixer than serum, even though it has that consistency. Whenever I get a spot on my face, I use it and it dries up very quickly. Love it.
