Quickie Mention: Face of Australia Glitterati in Disco Inferno

Face of Australia Glitterati in Disco Inferno

Let me start by saying I don’t like glittery nail polish. They’re a pain in the ass to remove so I rarely buy them. Right, and the point of this post is …? 😛

Having said that, I knew that when I got the Face of Australia Glitterati nail polishes, I had to show you at least one of them because by george, they are beautiful. Flakes of glitter gleams in the bottles and even for a non-fan, they’re highly enticing. Today I thought I’d show you my favourite of the lot and that’s the Disco Inferno. Heads up, I did have to touch up my cuticles via Photoshop because I didn’t realise how absolutely GROTTY mine were when I snapped the photos. I had hangnail in almost every nail. Needless to say, it was downright disgusting and you didn’t need to see it. Trust me, you don’t want to see it. *shudder*

I don’t like using glitter nail polish on nude nails so I used Max Factor’s Glossfinity in Blackout as the base. The result is very shiny, ultra glittery nails of blue, red and silver. Here’s a tip: if you find that you’re not getting enough glitter, just swirl the brush around some glitter and dab on your nails instead of the usual smooth application. You can always smooth it out with a layer of top coat later.

Like all glitter nail lacquers, this was also a pain to remove so the foil method is necessary. If you’re a fan of glittery nail polish, I highly recommend you check out the Glitterati range. There are 8 different polishes in the range and at $4.95 each (they’re all 3-free), it’s such a bargain. All 8 will cost you 2 OPIs!

Note: The Glitterati nail polishes were provided for editorial consideration. Now if only they’d also provide the foil and acetone as well. Ahem. 😛

  1. I don’t like to wear glitter polishes too because they are always so hard to remove. But when I want to extra bling, I definitely go for some bright glitter nail polishes.

They are hard to remove. Haven’t found one that’s easy to remove just yet. This is definitely one of ’em “no pain no gain” thingies 😛

It looks amazing but like you the thought of spending three or four times as long as regular polish to remove it turns me off. I also like the smooth texture of polish on my nails. Does this feel bumpy?

Love seeing it on everyone else though 🙂

It does feel a bit bumpy but that’s just the flakes. As for lumps, there aren’t any with the Glitterati.
I love seeing glitter nail polish on other people too! 🙂
