If you read my post yesterday on why I think skin whitening is bollocks, you’ll know that I originally wanted to do a review on a serum I’ve been using but ended up ranting about skin whitening instead. What can I say? This girl sure can ramble on. 😛
Back to the original subject at hand, which are my thoughts on a brightening serum I’ve been using for the past month. When I had that amazing Kerstin Florian facial at Aurora Spa a few months ago, I had the pleasure of also trying out a few skincare products of the same name. Today, I’d like to show you a serum that I tried and love, and that’s the Correcting Brightening Facial Treatment.
Description:
The Brightening Facial Treatment instantly gives the skin a luminous and ultra-defined appearance with its powerful formula featuring botanicals and Acti-5 Brightening Complex. With continued usage, it helps inhibit melanin production and visibly fade dark spots to restore skin clarity.
It’s a light lotion that spreads well and absorbs very quickly onto the skin. It also smells of what I think all beauty products should smell like – oranges :P. I adore the scent; it’s not overpowering that I find it cloying but enough that just hits me in all the right spots.
What I really like about the serum is that it worked so quickly on my skin. Serums normally take at least 2-3 weeks for results to show on my skin (excluding a very rare few). This took just 2-3 DAYS. This serum gave me smooth and beautifully radiant skin. It’s brighter the next day with a more even skin tone. It didn’t fade my dark spots much though.
The list of ingredients doesn’t tell you the concentration of Vitamin C in the serum but I don’t expect it to be very high because it’s about 3/4 way down the list of ingredients. Still, the serum gave me gorgeous skin without experiencing any breakouts and for that, my skin is very thankful. Plus it smells of oranges, did I tell you that already? 😛
This can be used twice a day but I only use it in the evenings. That’s how I like to savour the good stuff. 🙂
If you’re looking for something that can give you quick results of smooth, even-toned and luminous skin AND if you’re crazy about orange-scented goodies like I am (okay I’ll stop with the oranges!), I’d recommend that you check out the Brightening Facial Treatment. It’s not cheap but if you’re looking to treating your skin something good, I’d go for this one.
Kerstin Florian’s Correcting Brightening Facial Treatment retails at AU$169 for 30ml and is available at the following locations: Park Hyatt (Melbourne), Aurora Spa Retreat (Melbourne), Plazzo Versace (Gold Coast), Hilton Surfers Paradise, Hilton on the Park (Melbourne), QT Sydney, Aquarius (Brisbane), Gibraltar Hotel (Bowral), Chateau Elan (Hunter Valley), Fairmont (Blue Mountains), Stephanies Urban Spa (Brisbane), Stephanies Spa Retreat (Sofitel Brisbane), Stephanies Ocean Spa, Outrigger Little Hastings St Resort & Spa (Noosa), Stephanies Mountain Spa (Brisbane), Stephanies Vintage Spa (Cleveland QLD ).
What I like about it: Very quick results of bright, luminous and more even-toned skin. Smells lovely (see, I didn’t mention anything about oranges anymore, did I? Ooops. :P)
What I do not like about it: It’s a pricey one.
