What: Brow arch wax
Where: Benefit Brow Bar @ MYER, Chadstone
Duration: 15 minutes
Beauty Therapist: Emma/Sangita
Experience:
- The Benefit Brow Bar has been in Chadstone for a while now but I’ve always overlooked it because of how crowded it usually is.
- LeGeeque had hers done at the Chadstone branch and it looked pretty good so I decided to try them out.
- The brow bar at Chadstone does walk-ins (no appointments needed, just put your name down and wait) on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays if I’m not mistaken, so I decided to do a walk-in as appointments had to be made well in advance since they’re usually quite booked-out.
- I really don’t recommend walk-ins because the first time I decided to try them out, I waited an hour at the counter for my turn. Along with walk-ins, they also allowed their appointments for the day, which meant that those who made appointments got their turn first regardless of whoever’s been waiting there for a long time. Many ladies who waited so long eventually left frustrated.
- When it was my turn, the brow artist had me hold a mirror while she explained how she was going to do my brows. When I gave her the okay, she got started.
- The entire process was quick and relatively painless (if you’ve waxed your brows before. If not, the delicate skin around the eyes will hurt the first few times you do waxing. I’ve been waxing my brows for a few years so it doesn’t hurt anymore).
- When the eyebrows are done, depending on whether she has a lot more appointments after me, she’d fill in my brows with either the Benefit brow pencil or the Brow Zings kit.
With brow artist, Emma (I usually go for Sangita but when I took pictures for this post, she wasn’t working that day. Emma’s very nice though)
Products Used:
Brow wax, Benefit Brow Zings Brow Shaping Kit, Benefit Speed Brow, Benefit High Brow Glow, tweezers, lots and lots of rubbing alcohol
Verdict:
- Even after waiting so long for my turn, I’d have to say that the service wasn’t bad. I had brow artist, Sangita, do my brows and she did a great job. I just wanted simple grooming and tidying up of my brows. She delivered and more.
- If the brow artists are busy, they’ll usually stop at the basic grooming of brows and leave you with another Benefit sales assistant to fill in your brows and/or powder the area to hide the redness.
- The whole process takes about 15 minutes.
- I’ve had my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar 3 times now and so far, it’s been all right. I learned my lesson after the first walk-in, and that was to make appointments for my brow grooming.
- If you’re thinking about getting your brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar (especially at Chadstone), don’t do the walk-ins. I find it a waste of time because they cannot give you a specific time to come back for your turn. I’ve seen women told to wait an hour more even though they were initially told to come back after a certain amount of time. Just make an appointment instead..
- A basic brow wax costs $27. If you’re not keen on waxing, they do tweezing as well for $6 more.

Was this a complimentary service: No. Paid for it with my own coin.
Have you had your brows done at any Benefit Brow Bars before? What did you think?
I think the result is quite nice. I do have a few Benefit counters near me, but I don’t think any of them has a brow bar.

Sadly, Benefit doesn’t have a brow bar in every branch. If there was, it’d be good because they’re quite affordable.
I get mine done at Myers in the city and walk in wait isn’t too bad. the first time I had it done in singapore and was very impressed.
That’s good! The one in Chadstone is cray-zaaay!
Yeah, got it once when they first opened up here in Brissie. I prefer to stick with my eyebrow threading lady :p or perhaps I’ll try Shu Uemura next.

Unfortunately, my brow lady costs more than double of Benefit and it’s a tad far for me to get to so for now, I’ll stick to this. I’d love to try Shu Uemura though. Oh well, one day 😛
Hi there Tine, please tell me you know Emma’s surname so I can look her up? 🙂 I had my brows done by her at highpoint and she did the best job but now she has left!!
