It’s not secret on the blog that I’m addicted to facial sheet masks. I put one on almost every other day especially during summer when it’s stinking hot outside and a cold mask makes the heat so much more bearable. Now that it’s getting colder, I still frequently use masks to maintain skin hydration. Just have to momentarily resist the shock of cold on the skin. π
My go-to for facial sheet masks for the past couple of years have been from My Beauty Diary. It’s affordable and feels great on the skin. I didn’t think I’d discover anything better (save for SKII masks, of course; that’s a whole new category of masks that I shall leave for another day and another post) until I tried the ones by L’Herboflore.
As some of you may know, blogging buddy and chicken rice aficionado Tina relocated to Taiwan some time ago. She’s now working with L’Herboflore and kindly sent me a whole heap facial L’Herboflore sheet masks to try out. π
These masks are developed in Taiwan and boy, the packaging sure looks good. They’re bigger but flatter than My Diary Masks when stacked together. The bump at the top of each packet is to make it easier for you to hold and open without accidentally ripping the mask. It’s such a simple concept yet very clever (certainly something most if not all the rest of the facial sheet mask brands did not think of).
There are so many ranges to L’Herboflore sheet masks. There’s Garden of Venus – Flora, Garden of Venus – Fruits, the clinical ranges (Biocellulose, 3D), Aegean Sea, Party Sweety, Aromatherapy and Royal Countess. In these ranges, there are even more masks. Out of the heap of masks I was given to try, I only had a few duplicates and there were at least 25 different types of masks!
I’ll be honest; I couldn’t tell the difference between each masks, on whether mask A performed better than mask B. The Garden of Venus Flora and Fruits, Aegean Sea and Party Sweety ranges were all pretty much the same to me. Each mask has a difference fragrance according to its name and that was about the only difference I could tell. However, all of them gave me exactly what I wanted on my skin: intense hydration and full-on boing-boing-ness on the skin. That’s already a big tick in the checkbox right there.
What I really like, no, LOVE about the masks are how well it fits my face. L’Herboflore masks are thinner than My Beauty Diary ones but they stretch out on my face, fitting the contours of my face so much better. With MBD masks, when you move your face (e.g. sneeze or wrinkle your nose), the mask shifts with the movement. However, with L’Herboflore masks, they fit the face so well that even with facial movement, the masks barely shifts. After 10 minutes, I forget I even have a mask on! Once you’re done with the mask, use it on your neck, dΓ©colletage, arms and even legs. Don’t waste any of the good juice. π
These facial sheet masks have quickly and easily replaced my favourite My Beauty Diary masks. As they’re also flatter in package, they were easier to travel with. I brought 8 of these masks with me back to Malaysia without any issues(I even used one on the plane! Oh, and another thing about this mask? Once you have it on, it’s not as obvious as MBD masks, which makes using it on the plane much easier. If you’re worried about people staring at your white face, that is ;)).
L’Herboflore facial sheet masks retail from NT$50 (AU$1.60) per piece to NT$250 (AU$8.15) per piece. The cheapest ranges are the Garden of Venus, Sweety Party and Aegean Sea whereas the clinical ranges are the priciest. These are very affordable yet effective sheet masks that I would happily recommend anyone to try. If anything, the delicious fragrances alone will win you over, I’m sure of that. π
It’s such a pity these masks are not available in Australia or even Malaysia. At the moment, they’re only available in Taiwan (Taipei 101). If you’d like to buy one of these to try, do shoot Tina an email and she might be able to post it out to you. When I’m finished with my stash, I’ll be buying more to restock. It’s been a good run, My Beauty Diary, but I’ve found a new sheet mask love in L’Herboflore now.
Do you use facial sheet masks? What’s your favourite? Don’t you just hate it that when you sneeze or talk, the entire mask shifts and you have to readjust it? No? Just me then. π
Note: These awesome possum masks were provided for editorial consideration.
Gosh I haven’t used a mask in so long, I need to treat myself! I was using Beauty Diary too, think I still have some left in my bathroom bottom drawer mm.
Haha you definitely need to treat yourself to one! Just stick one on and continue on with your thing. Before, I wouldn’t even wear my glasses over the mask which means I can’t do anything for 30 mins. Now I just wear my glasses over it π
Wow! This mask is almost invisible.
I’m loving the LonVitalite range of masks I stocked up with free shipping recently. I relax with mine on in bed watching TV! I kinda like the fact that I can’t keep moving around the house doing domestic duties!
Do you seriously use a mask on the plane? Don’t think I’d ever be confident enough to do that!
Haha that’s why I use it on the plane! You can barely see it! π Just use it when the lights are off. Most people would be sleeping and wouldn’t know anyway. The rest who aren’t wouldn’t give two figs. Better to treat your skin to something nice than to worry about what people whom you’ll never see again think, right? π
I’m heading to Taiwan in about 2 weeks and will definitely check these masks out! π
Yay! Trust me, you will be absolutely spoilt for choice. They have SOOOO many to choose from!
This mask looks much thinner than the MBD mask and fits your face almost perfectly. You know, I was influence to purchase MBD masks after reading about it on Paris, your blog, Plue and Musings of a Muse. LOL. I even gave my friend the idea that I got on your blog to wear a sheet mask on the plane when she goes on an overseas trip soon. Hahaha. Although the MBD masks are hydrating, I just find them really messy to use as it does not fit my face perfectly. I guess it is more about getting use to using them regularly. Pity LβHerboflore masks are not in Malaysia as I would have certainly love to try them π
Bahahahaha good to know, V! Love doing my job as an enabler π
oh I want to try! Haven’t tried facial masks before, just recently got into clay and hydration masks, the type you slather on.
I’ve tried a lot of those slather-on masks but found the sheet masks more convenient. Having said that, this is my pampering routine:
1. Scrub face
2. Apply a clay mask for deep cleansing
3. Put on a sheet mask
4. Hello toing-toing skin!
We LOVE the LonVitalite masks too Karen! We use them in our salons and they are just awesome. Great little Aussie company! Gotta Support the AUSSIES!!!
Oooh I gotta try this one out. Have heard good things! Will get some from the online shop to try π
oh, they look normal on your face (vs my face always looking SCARY) AND they have pretty packaging! hehe that is kind of exciting. Glad you are enjoying these!
