Look out, the Blush Fiends are back to bring you another blushing story about fighting the world against pastiness!
Today, it’s all about the springtime blush.
Now I know it’s strange talking about the blush I’d use in spring time given that it’s now autumn Down Under (and it feels as though summer isn’t even going to let up). As most of my fellow Blush Fiends are enjoying the pleasures of spring now (err, maybe not so pleasurable if hay fever is in the air :P), I thought I’d join in the fun and their season too. After the cold winter months, it’s time to add a pop of colour to the cheeks. For that, I’m going to sprinkle some hearts your way.
Spring is a mark of new beginnings. New crops, the first bloom of fresh flowers … a start of something new. My idea of the perfect blush in spring time is the Etude House Princess Etoinette blush. It’s sweet, girly, pretty and it’s a reminder of love in springtime. Okay, I know that sounds might cheesy but it’s what I’d imagine the ultimate springtime blush would be.
Another apt blush for spring would be Laduree’s Rose Petals blush (what’s more appropriate than the bloom of roses in spring) but since I’ve already reviewed it, I thought I’d bring you some hearts instead.
When I first saw this blush on The Best Beauty Blog, I knew I must have it. At that time, I was already back in Malaysia and since there’s an Etude House in Penang, it was only a matter of time before I hit the shops and get the blush for myself. Unfortunately, the Etude House in Penang didn’t stock this (in fact, the sales staff had no idea what it was!). Later I found out that only the branches in KL stocked it and it was selling like hot cakes. Beetrice helped me to get the Princess Etoinette set, which comprises the hearts blush, a lipstick, a kabuki brush and a mirror.
Like the Laduree Rose Petals blush, the hearts are packed separately. Initially, I thought I might just use the blush in its original plastic packaging and using the container to store my trinkets (exactly what I did with the Rose Petals blush). Then I figured, oh I might as well just use the blush in the container instead. That’s what it’s for, isn’t it? I’m glad I did because it didn’t only look better in the pink container, it was a lot easier to use.
The hearts are firmly packed blush. All you have to do is swirl your blush brush over all the hearts, tap to remove the access and apply it on your face. It’s sheer but easily buildable especially if you concentrate your blush on the redder bits. The result is a very pretty coral-pink flush on the cheeks.
There’s a gorgeous floral scent to the blush that just reminds you of the fresh bloom of spring.
Sadly, Etude House isn’t available in Australia. It really is too bad because I’m sure you’ll like this. It’s such a pretty blush to have in your collection. This sits nicely on my dresser next to my Laduree Rose Petals. π

Thanks Lyn! It’s such a pretty blush. When I saw it in pictures, my mata terbeliak. Must. Have. It. π
You look like you lost some weight, Tine.
The blush looks so cute! I tried some really bad eye shadows from Etude House before so I never went back, but these little hearts are precious π

Aww thanks Lily! Nah, I didn’t, but thank you all the same π Yeah, the hearts are precious. So pretty π
The blush is unbelievably cute! I’m a real sucker for cute packaging. I’m also loving your eye makeup, beautiful and smokey. It’s something I’ve yet to master! π
(Btw, I’ve noticed the comment luv thingy hasn’t been working for me – NOT that it matters! I just thought I should give you the heads up in case others have had issues)
I still love you π
Drats, it’s not working? Thanks for letting me know! I’ll check it out right away.
PS: Love you too <3
Waaah!!! I saw that on Ling’s blog then now yours!!! No, I don’t just collect lipsticks…now, no thanks to a few beauty bloggers – you, Emma, Ling – I collect freaking blush too! Just recently bought the Physician’s Formula “Happy” blush from iHerb. It’s got a gorgeous shade! And love the packaging too…but this one…can’t beat this one by Etude House!!

Hee hee, get a “mule” in Singapore to get it for you! π
I find the Physician’s Formula Hearts blush slightly too shimmery for my liking, but it is a very pretty blush all the same π
The hearts bring about much joy and it shows on the face π I’m not much of a blush fiend (more of an eyeliner fanatic) but I have a feeling after reading your blog for much longer, the blush threshold will be crossed π
How do you get to photograph your face so well? I tried with no success, I always ended looking wonky :s
Hahaha start a group called the Eyeliner Fanatics! I’d love to read more about eyeliners too π Still, I know I’ll convert you to a blush fiend just yet π
As for photographing the face, it’s lots of practice, trial and error. If you go to the archives and see my photographed face in much older posts, they’re not good. I find that sitting in front of a window helps. Face the window, let natural light hit your face, hold the camera in front of you and snap. No snapping of photos under harsh lights (that will make even the most expertly applied makeup look like poo), and definitely no flash.
If possible, have a mirror in front of you as well. You will be able to see the LCD screen of the camera in the reflection of the mirror; this way, you’ll know exactly what you’re photographing and where the focus is.
Good luck!
Good name for a series of posts π Maybe you’d jump on the bandwagon?
How about facial expressions? Coz you photographed beautifully and it comes off so so so naturally beautiful! π
Hahaha thanks! Again, it’s all practice! I take at least 50 photos just to use 3! π
Awww it’s a great colour on you! π Besides, the discount from Etude House was a sign – it was meant to be! LOL…can’t wait to see the lippie on you, I reckon it’ll be a very pretty hue as well. π

Aww thanks Joyce! π x
You look gorgeous! Do you remember how much this blush cost in RM? Will check it out if I go to Pavillion one of these days π
Thanks Victoria π I’m afraid I don’t know how much this blush alone cost. The whole set is RM135, so the blush should cost less π
Aawww… so pretty!! Look good on you.
Thanks Nani π x
so pretty! but it’s pretty pricey, and i remember it being a little too frosty for my liking, but on you that doesn’t seem the case! how’s the kabuki brush? nice?

I have to admit, for Etude House, it is pretty pricey, even if the price was for the whole set. The kabuki brush is soft, but what’s interesting about it is the shape that looks like a flower from the top. I haven’t used it yet though. Too pretty to use π
