Hello folks!
Recovered from your food coma from all the festivities yet? I’m still dragging myself out of one. 😛
I originally had a beauty post planned for today, but looking at my stats and traffic (many people away on holiday, hence lower traffic), I thought nah, let’s do something fun and spontaneous instead.
Let’s do a What I Got For Christmas post! 😛
Funny enough, this year, I didn’t get a single beauty item for Christmas. No clothes, no accessories, no techie gadgets either. This year, every item is for the kitchen!
Tim and I had an agreement about our gift exchange this year. Since we pretty much ate and shopped our brains out in Japan, we decided on a $20 cap for our gifts, nothing more than that. I can tell you this much – it was actually difficult deciding what to get for him with a $20 budget in mind. I even went to the supermarket and thought of getting him a massive box of crisps that he likes (decided against that since I don’t want to kill him off in an instant by clogging his arteries with salt). In the end, I bought him a big bucket of carwash items from Autobarn. 😛
He got me a cook’s knife (not even chef’s knife. No really, it says Cook’s Knife on the packaging! Kinda like the stuff Junior Masterchefs use) and a garlic grater. Is it weird that I was strangely very excited about the garlic grater?
I also received a tea infuser mug from Kris Kringle and a flan tin from SY. The latter’s a good one for me to try my hand at making quiches, which I’ve never made before.
Absolutely love my pressies this year. Very useful items that I’d enjoy in the kitchen. As much as I love my beauty shizz, it’s really nice to receive gifts that are different from what you’d expect.
Over to you, and I’m really eager to know – what did YOU get this Christmas? 😀
UPDATE: Aww man, this is embarrassing. I just received a message from a dear friend, who after seeing this post reminded me that I did get beauty items for Christmas. From her. Which I forgot. Gah I’m a terrible friend! *facepalm*
the garlic grater looks really awesome! i really dislike the garlic/onion smell that lingers on the hands after mincing them ><
Me too! A good way to get rid of the garlic stench on your fingers is to rub them on your stainless steel sink. Just press your fingers on the sides of the sink and run them on the surface. After washing them with handwash, the smell will dissipate 🙂
That is the best garlic cutting thing I’ve ever seen. I’ve got to get one!!
Haha I know, right? I have a garlic crusher that doesn’t even work as well as this one does. To be honest, I don’t know how long this will last before the blades start to wear down but I’ll enjoy garlic-free fingers as much as I can before it does 😛
I want that knife! I want that Junior Master Chef knife! hehehehe Ahh I haven’t been around the kitchen for awhile but I won’t mind getting kitchen stuff as gifts! LOL

Woohoo to practical nifty gadget-ish kitchen items! I got few tea towels and a cookbook…which is like…um…no thanks. Not a wifey!!! LOL
Merry Christmas 🙂

I’m eyeing the Thermomix next. Ooooooh boy! 😀
I too should be in the kitchen more often. I used to cook almost daily but have since stopped because work increased. haha, I may not show it, but I am in love with kitchen stuff too! Get me anything kitchen, and I’d love it. Stationery too, and books, and organisation/storage products… … lol, sometimes it’s hard to imagine beauty bloggers can love something else outside makeup and skincare.

Hahahaha I know, right? I love kitchen stuff! Which is funny because 10 years ago, I can’t cook worth peanuts. I actually burnt the rice. How the heck can one burn rice?? Not that I’m a pro now but at least I can cook more than just fried eggs 😛
Kitchen gadgets aren’t cheap, but man, they sure are fun to play with. Oooh stationery too. Books. Well all that you said 😛
I got myself Crabtree and Evelyn and Loccitane hand creams!!! 😀 At last I still got myself beauty related item 🙂
Hahaha that’s good! Those are good hand creams. Can’t go wrong with C&E and L’Occitane at all 😉
I got an Expressi coffee machine from hubby.. Well, I love coffee though I can’t take much or strong ones due to weak stomach (for coffee somehow).. But Expressi has decaf, chocolate and chai latte! I’m so happy about the pressie!
That is awesome! We got the Expressi from Aldi a few months ago and we have no regrets. It may not be as fancy as Nespresso or the many new coffee pod machines that are popping out left, right and centre, but it still makes pretty damn good coffee at such low prices. Only 16cents a cup! 😀
