A Taste of French Skincare with Uriage AquaPrécis

I think that up till about a couple of months ago, the only French skincare brand I’ve actually used is Avene (Edit: After this post was up, I just realised that Avene’s not the only French brand I’ve tried. Another good one is Guinot, which I missed). Nothing wrong with the brand, but due to limited availability of affordable French skincare brands in Australia, I wasn’t contented with just one brand. I wanted to try out more.

It’s often a misconception that Asian brands are more suited for Asians, Western brands more for Western skin, etc. In fact, I’ve heard and read rave reviews about Westerners loving Japanese skincare, Asians loving the French ones, and so on. I believe that if it works for you, it WORKS for you. Why limit yourself to just the same types of skincare, eh?

When Uriage came to town, I was excited. I’ve heard of the brand yonks ago in Malaysia. I can’t remember if it was available at Malaysian pharmacies back then or if I read it in a Malaysian beauty magazine, but I’ve definitely heard about it.

It’s finally in Australia!

A Taste of French Skincare with Uriage AquaPrécis

I’ve been using these Uriage products for almost 2 months now (the express mask for a month), and let me just say … wow.

Uriage AquaPrécis Moisturising Refreshing Cream Gel (RRP AU$49.95)*

Uriage AquaPrécis Moisturising Refreshing Cream Gel Ingredients

  • It’s a light face cream (white cream, not a gel), which is good for oily/combination skin.
  • Smells amazing. I absolutely adore anything that says “marine” in the fragrance, and this one smells great.
  • It’s oil-free, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave any greasy residue on the skin.
  • It’s not a fancy moisturiser, so don’t expect any bells and whistles. It’s a hydrating lotion for those with oily/combination skin and it does just that..
  • It can be used during the day or night, but I like using this at night because of its relaxing marine fragrance.
  • My skin feels boing boing the next morning. Mission accomplished.

Uriage AquaPrécis Moisturising Eye Contour Care (RRP AU$39.95)*

Uriage AquaPrécis Moisturising Eye Contour Care Ingredients

  • It’s a light, refreshing gel for under the eyes.
  • The scent is very similar to the moisturiser.
  • It’s not rich, so I wasn’t worried about milia developing under my eyes. I’ve been using this for over 6 weeks now, and so far, no milia.
  • It’s not an eye cream to reduce the appearance of fine lines or remove dark circles. It’s more of a hydrating gel for the delicate skin around the eyes and to reduce eye bags under the eyes.
  • The eye gel feels good on the skin and hydrates the delicate skin under the eyes well.

Uriage AquaPrécis Moisturising Express Mask (RRP AU$39.95)

Uriage AquaPrécis Moisturising Express Mask

  • After trying the moisturiser and eye cream, I was very keen on trying another Uriage product in the Aqua-Précis range. I picked up the Express Mask from Creelman’s Pharmacy in the city (I had a chat with one of the staff in the pharmacy and she gave me a generous amount of Bioderma samples!)
  • The mask goes on clear on the skin.
  • The skin feels a tad tight after 10 minutes.
  • Sometimes when I feel that my skin needs an extra boost of hydration (oily/combination skin can be dehydrated too), I apply this, remove the mask and I apply a facial sheet mask. My skin feels and looks great the next morning. Extra boingness FTW.
  • Unfortunately, there’s no list of ingredients for this because I threw away the box before taking a photo of it first. Oops.

These products are more suitable for oily/combination skin. If you have dry skin, you might not find this rich enough to hydrate your skin, especially not during the cold winter months. The moisturiser was sufficient for my skin, and so was the express mask.

Colour me impressed. My skin absolutely loves these blue things. It’s all Frenchy ooh lah lah now 😛

*These products were provided for consideration. It’s so exciting when new products hit the skincare jackpot for me. No doubt about it, I shall purchase more of these when I’m done.

Ooh they sound so good! We do get Uriage here (Guardian pharmacies I think) and I never paid them much attention. You know how it is. So many distracting brands/products out there! But now I’m keen to give the moisturizing stuff a go. Maybe I’ll see if they have a trial kit I can pick up and try 😀

Hi! Where are these products available is Aus? It sucks we don’t have a wider range of European/French brands here. I really want to try the Embryolisse line! Thanks, Kate x
