When these colourful Cedel hair products landed on my desk for review, I was excited. I adore the dry shampoo (more on that later), and simply couldn’t wait to try out the new dry conditioner and heat protector which I’ve heard so much about.
Did the newbies make the cut like the dry shampoo did? Well, here’s when I dub these – the not-so-holy Cedel trinity.
The Bad: Cedel Blow Dry Faster Heat Protector (RRP AU$9.99)
I always like to start with the bad, so that I can end in a good note. Straight up, I don’t like this. I thought it was a heat protector spray, something I can use before I run the flat iron on my hair. I’d normally spray the liquid on my hands first, rub my palms together and then apply it on my hair. When I sprayed this on my palm, the liquid was cold, stung just a little, and evaporated almost immediately from my skin.
When I checked the ingredients, it was no wonder that happened, because it contains a high amount of alcohol. I believe that’s why it states that the spray can reduce the time to dry your hair. When the alcohol evaporates, it takes the moisture away from your hair. It didn’t shorten blowdrying time for me either (then again, I do have a lot of hair). Nope, I’m not a fan, no siree.
Ingredients: Alcohol, Water, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, Hydrolyzed Silk, Phynoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance.
The Good: Cedel Dry Conditioner (RRP AU$9.99)
I’m just a little on-the-fence with this one. It’s not the usual sort of leave-in conditioners I’m used to. This comes in a mousse, and if you use too much (there’s a tendency to squirt a little too much mousse), the hair becomes heavy, slightly greasy and flat.
BUT, if you use a tiny amount (say, the size of 2 peas. Yep, that little), then the hair becomes light and detangled. I wouldn’t recommend this to people with short, fine, less-volume hair as I think it might be too heavy (unless you use very little). It will work better for those who has long, thick and coarse hair.
Ingredients: Water, Propylene Glycol, Butane, Isobutane, Cetyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Bran Extract, Linoleic Acid, Fragrance, Ethoxydiglycol, Butylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Glucose, Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin E, Tussilago Farfara (Coltsfoot) Leaf Extract, Equisetum Arvense Extract, Inositol, Diazolidinyl Urea.
The So-Perfect-It’s-Holy-Grail Status: Cedel Dry Shampoo (RRP AU$9.99)
From one product that I’m not a fan of to one which the jury is still out on, the dry shampoo shoots right to the Holy Grail, dry-shampoo-of-all-dry-shampoos shelf. This is currently my second can, and it’s about to finish soon so it’s time to restock.
I’ve used dry shampoos by Klorane and Batiste, and I still like the Cedel one the most. The scent is not powdery like Klorane’s and not fruity/floral like Batiste. It’s more subtle, which I like. It doesn’t look like I’ve sprayed a lot of white powder on my scalp if I’m liberal with my application. It’s light and all-round-awesome as a dry shampoo. Big love for Cedel’s Dry Shampoo. Big big love.
Ingredients: Butane, Isobutane, Alcohol, Propane, Aluminium Starch, Octenylsuccinate Fragrance, Quaternium-18 Bentonite, Fragrance.
These Cedel hair products are available at Priceline and selective pharmacies nationwide.
Have you tried any of these Cedel hair products? What did you think of them, especially the heat protector?
YAY! I am so glad that you said the conditioner would be too heavy for fine hair, you saved me some money because I was going to buy it to try it out!

Tegan: I think it’s just the mousse that makes it feel heavy. It’s difficult to control the amount of mousse that comes out, and I feel obligated to use all of them instead of halving the amount and let the rest go to waste. Maybe it’s just me, but I think if it’s heavy for me, it’s definitely going to be heavy for those with fine hair.
Ha…I did a dry shampoo review today too! Do you have the ingredient list for the dry shampoo. The price point looks good if I can get my hands on it.
(Btw, my comment wasn’t appearing on one of your previous article…so wondering if this will happen too.)
Sesame: Got your comment, and not in spam. Oh dear, which one is it not appearing in? I check my spam daily and didn’t see you in there.
I’ve updated the post with a list of ingredients for all three hair products 🙂
I really appreciate your honest review of these, it’s refreshing to see.
I have the dry conditioner (sample size i think) and I haven’t used it yet, so thanks for the heads up on the amount of product to use. I’ve only ever tried the Klorane dry shampoo and liked it enough to consider trying others. I’ll definitely put this on the list 🙂

Kaye: You might like the dry conditioner more than me, so do give it a try. Just remember to start with very little of the mousse and then only build up if you need more 🙂
Methinks I’m going to have to buy a can of the Cedel dry shampoo when I finish the other cans of different brands I have lying about! Batiste annoyed me because if you use too much it makes you hair go white. I was using the Toni & Guy one, which worked really really well, but stunk so bad. I’m currently using a green one from Target – Girlz Only or something similarly silly – and it’s pretty awesome, and cheap too, full priced it’s like 3 bucks!

Lauren: I haven’t tried the one from Toni & Guy and I was tempted to until you said it stunk so bad >.< Right, staying away from it now.
