To me, Sisley is on the same level as La Mer. Equally luxurious, just as expensive. It’s like being on a high shelf almost close enough for me to reach but will have do tip-toe like crazy to get. The painful tippity-toes will be from the squeals of the wallet, of course 😛
I was blown away when a bottle of serum from Sisley landed on my desk for review. A serum! From Sisley! Full-sized! Excuse me while I …
… *swoon*
Description:
Developed by Sisley Research, Phyto-Blanc Intensive Lightening Serum has been formulated to act effectively on the visible manifestations of pigmentation problems. It helps prevent the appearance of brown spots, reduces their intensity, visibily lightens the skin and gradually reveals its natural radiance, thanks to its continous action made possible by the prolonged release of Vitamin C over time.
The serum is a milky-white, oil-free lotion and has a gorgeous, luxurious texture. It has a slightly citrusy scent too, which I’m always a fan of. The packaging is a simple white tube that comes with a hidden silver pump. Each dispense goes to the forehead, nose, both cheeks, chin and neck.
Six weeks into using the serum, I started observing a difference to my skin. There are no miraculous changes, of course. My skin wasn’t lightened a few shades or anything. However I noticed some lightening to the freckles on my cheeks, and an all-round radiance and brightness to the skin.
It’s not so much a moisturising serum than a dark spot correcting and prevention serum, so if you’re looking for something that’s intense in hydration, this is not the serum for you. But if you’re looking for brighter, more radiant skin, I can’t sing enough praises for this beautiful serum.
All in all, it leaves the skin feeling and looking all kinds of awesome. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up for the Sisley serum.
Here comes the snag, and it’s a big one. This serum is freakin’ expensive (AU$390 for 30ml). It’s the most expensive serum I’ve ever used. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to get to try out a full-sized bottle of this beauty juice, because had I not had the opportunity to try it out, I would have overlooked this at the beauty counters because of its price. Will I purchase this serum once I’m done? I jolly well hope so. I’m already saving my money for the next one!
Sisley Phyto-Blanc Intensive Lightening Serum is available at David Jones stores nationwide.
What I like about it: Lightened the freckles on my face, especially the darked ones on my cheeks (not significant lightening, but enough to see a difference), added an all-round radiance to the skin, light citrus scent
What I do not like about it: Lord, it’s pricey.
It sounds like an amazing serum, but ouch, that pricetag!
Emy: Oh I know, right? Kills me man >.<
I love Sisley for its great results on my skin, but I was forced to slowly leave it as a brand due to the prices.
I would very much like to try this serum but I will lament my money every time I use it.
Marianthi: Sigh, tell me about it. I’m using it so sparingly now because I want it to last as long as it can. Sisley is a beautiful brand, but why does it have to be so expensive? 🙁
I love sisley products.. Ive tried a few of their masks and they were all lovely.. Ive had samples of this serum and i loved how it felt.. Def my next serum purchase 😉
