I haven’t been reviewing mascaras for a while now. That’s because I haven’t found any that really worked for me. I have thick-but-not-full, with short and straight lashes. This means that I’m not really looking for volume, but something to give me a good curl, free of clumps and, most importantly, length in my lashes. So far, most of the mascaras I’ve been using have been quite meh.
That was up to about a couple of months ago, when I discovered two mascaras that gave me exactly what I wanted. It was as though someone just dropped 2 nuggets of gold on my lap, at the same time. Best of all, both mascaras cost less than $12 each. What’s that now? Right. SCORE. π
Today, I’m going to be reviewing the first of the two mascaras, and that’s the Face of Australia Impact Curl Extreme Volume and Curl mascara.
Description:
Revolutionary smooth-curve formula glides onto lashes, creating extreme volume and long-lasted curl. Hourglass-shaped rubber grabs and separates every lash for perfect, clump-free application. Smudge-proof and flake-resistant. Paraben-free.
I like applying at least 2 layers of mascara on my lashes, but when I do that, it’s clump-city all over again. This mascara does not give me clumps. At all. I can be piling this on for the next 6 layers and it wouldn’t clump. No odd bits of mascara sticking to the end of my lashes either.
What I really like about the mascara is that it separates and coats every single lash beautifully. I’m not sure about the curl part though because it didn’t achieve that for my lashes. But it does give my lashes volume, and does not smudge after long hours of wear, which are big plus points in my book.
Face of Australia, how many times must I say this? You’ve done it again π
Face of Australia Impact Curl Extreme Volume and Curl Mascara retails at AU$11.95 and is available at Priceline, Big W and Kmart stores nationwide.
What I like about it: No clumps, long-wearing, cheap as chips
What I do not like about it: Chemical scent on mascara (nothing I couldn’t handle)
Stay tuned next week when I show you what my next cheapie vavavoom mascara is!
THAT’S SO CHEAP FOR A GOOD MASCARA! I need one to be completely smudge-free, though. That’s why I only use tubing mascaras π

LeGeeque: I love a good and more importantly, cheap mascara. I don’t feel bad chucking them after 6 months π
Looks good! (and I don’t mean just the purple colour of the tube π ) Will have to add that to the ‘to check out’ list. π

I love how FOA have such good products for such great prices. I’m gonna have to try this one out, in need of new mascara
Kate: My sentiments exactly. A lot of good products at cheapie prices. Just my cup of tea π
