THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!
It’s interesting how you can be bloggie pals with your readers long before you find out later that they’re actually behind beauty brands and companies. I meant that in a good way because it means that the person is a genuine reader before even approaching you to speak about their brand and products.
Raylene has been a loyal reader of Beautyholics Anonymous for a while now. She leaves comments every so often and it was many months later before she asked me if I was interested in trying out some of the products from her skincare company, 1SkinSolution. I didn’t even know she had a skincare company because I don’t remember her linking to any websites when she leaves a comment. See, that’s how brands should work with bloggers. Get to know them first! 🙂
Anyway, when she asked me if I was interested in giving some of her products a go, I finally checked out the link to 1SkinSolution that she sent me. The brand is predominantly about body care products and personalised lipbalms (love the idea!). A few days later, she sent me a pack of travel-sized goodies containing a body scrub, body wash and body cream.
Vanilla Bean Body Cream
I’m not usually a fan of vanilla-scented moisturisers, whether it’s for the face or body because the ones I’ve encountered have a sickly candy-sweet artificial vanilla fragrance which I’m not fond of. I’m so glad this Vanilla Bean Body Cream does not smell like those. It has a homely, vanilla butter cake scent which isn’t overpowering, but still smells delicious at the same time. The cream is rich but not greasy. I like to use this at night after a shower.
Lime Thyme Body Wash
Oh I like this one. I can’t really smell the thyme much because the fresh citrusy scent of lime just hits you when you uncap the bottle. It’s a refreshing body wash that isn’t dry or stripping to the skin. I’d like it more if it had a smaller opening on the top of the bottle because if you’re not careful, it tends to dispense a lot of body wash, which is wasteful. Other than that, thumbs up on the body wash.
Bath and Shower Crystals
I’ve left this for the last, because it’s my favourite of the lot. It is, quite possibly, the best body scrub I’ve ever used. The best! A loud claim, you say? To be honest, I was quite skeptical when Raylene mentioned sending me bath crystals because I don’t have a bathtub, but she said I could use it as a body scrub in the shower. It’s a mixture of salt and sugar with lime and lavender essential oils. It smells absolutely amazing, and my skin feels refreshed and smooth after the scrub. I use this sparingly because I don’t have a lot, but when it’s finished, I’m definitely purchasing a tub from her. It smells and feels way too good to pass.

I had a chat with Raylene about giving one of my readers the opportunity to try these products out, and she has kindly agreed to give away one travel pack, as shown here, to a Beautyholics Anonymous reader 🙂

We have 7 kids at home, 14 and under- and we have the odd day that never seems to end- no matter how much we want it to!
After ‘one of those’ days, I love to have a nice warm shower, get in my comfy pjs then escape from it all with a DVD, chocolate and a glass of wine. (in bed of course!) 🙂
(oh, and I am following you on Twitter and I tweeted about your giveaway)
My best way to relax these days are spending time chatting with bub and hubby on the sofa/bed.. Of cos, a nice bath with the beautiful products will make me more relaxed! 🙂
what is better way to relax and just calm your mind and body than a day at the spa?
My way to relax after a long hard day would be treating and pampering myself with soft, calming music playing at the background, breathe in the smell of fresh flowers and organic therapeutic oils nd indulging into a full body massage… WOW!! feels great! 🙂
best way to relax after long day is a luxurious bath with my favourite bath products and snuggle up under my covers for as long a sleep as possible.
A brilliant writeup on these products! Absolutely adore them and have the full sized set in my bathroom! I cannot start the day without a refreshing cleanse with the lime time body wash!
Woops meant Lime Thyme Body Wash!
Put the kids to bed,
Curl up with a glass of wine,
Get a book I haven’t read,
Forget my problems, it will all be fine!
My best way to relax after a long day
Is to close my eyes and dream away
I lay in bed and let my mind escape
To a tropical paradise; a mesmerizing seascape
To a land where there’s calm, serenity and sun
A place where you can go to have lots of fun
I picture myself having a massage that lasts an hour
And then I’d  cool off with a waterfall shower.
If only these imaginings would come true
But sadly make believe will have to do!
listen to r mercer on da radio~
