Of all the Face of Australia nail polishes I’ve tried, I’m going to be really biased and say this is my favourite range. It’s not just because every shade is pretty, but also because I had a small part to play in selecting the shades. You see, this collection is created in collaboration with the MBBE (Melbourne Beauty Blogger Events) ladies π
With that, Face of Australia launched a limited edition range of nail polishes called Barbados. I remember the day we helped to choose the shades for this collection. It was such fun (we actually saw Val’s naked nails, and you know that’s a rare thing!) trying on different shades that came straight from the lab. Together with lots of yummy food and good friends, we chose 8 colours (some were named by Jacie!) which you will see below.
It may not be as glamourous as the MAC’s Bloggers’ Obsession collection, but it’s a big step for us wee Aussie beauty bloggers to get such a great opportunity to help come up with a range of nail lacquers. I’m proud as punch of this, I am π
Calypso Gold – Cream with gold shimmer (3 coats)
Orange You Glad You Came? – Mandarin orange with gold shimmer (2 coats)
Bright Lights, Pink City – Barbie pink with gold shimmer (3 coats)
Another Daiquiri Please – Cherry red with subtle gold shimmer (3 coats)
I Like to Mauve It – Purple-pink with silver shimmer (2 coats)
You Blue Me Away – Denim blue with silver shimmer (2 coats)
Let’s Go Scuba Diving – Teal with blue shimmer (2 coats)
Party At The Gap – Charcoal with silver and blue shimmer (2 coats)
These are beautiful nail polishes, and are lovely for the remaining summer. My favourite ones are Calypso Gold, Orange You Glad You Came, Bright Lights Pink City and Let’s Go Scuba Diving π
Each nail polish retails at AU$4.95 and is available now at Priceline, Kmart, Big W and selected pharmacies nationwide. All nail polishes are Toluene-free, Formaldehyde-free and Dibutyl Phthalate-free.
Awww…. the names are as fun as OPI’s and the colours look great! I’ve been looking for an orange polish – might give this one a go π Well done, MBBE π I love that they are 3-free but after a spell of ugh from A-England’s creme polishes, how do they fare in terms of application? Never mind, for $5, what have you got to lose?! π

LeGeeque: The ones that need 3 coats go on sheer. Application for the green, orange, black and blue ones were the best for me, I think. Easy gliding, no drag. Only 5 bucks! π
Hats off to the ladies of MBBE!! What fun it must have been and those are beautiful beautiful colours even if I’m not a polish fanatic π
Paris B recently posted..EstΓ©e Lauder CyberWhite Brilliant Cells Night Cream : A brightening moisture cream that’s so brilliant I use it in the day too!
Paris B: The best part was the testing and selecting of the nail polishes. Typical of MBBE, there was also a lot of food involved with the selection π
I like Let’s Go Scuba Diving!

Beetrice: Hahahahaha good one! I like me a good corny line sometimes π
Love the names, so cute! I think some of the polishes the glitters in them looks so obvious.. I dont quite like that look. But I dont mind trying Bright Lights, Pink City and Another Daiquiri Please π
Helen: Yeah, some of the polishes do have quite a bit of shimmer in them. So if you’re not a fan of shimmery polishes, then I’m afraid these won’t do for you π
The pink and cherry ones are pretty though, so good choice!
Pleased that my naked nails are featured in your post!!
Vxxx
Ponikuta: You’re lucky I didn’t have a picture of you and your naked nails ‘cos you know I’m so going to post it here. BAHAHAHAH!! π
