Estee Lauder. It’s a brand I’m loving more these days. Years ago, I wouldn’t dream of touching anything from the brand because 1) their products are expensive and 2) erm, I thought their brand was quite “auntie” 😛
After Tom Pecheux became the creative makeup director for Estee Lauder, their makeup had a rejuvenation, and started appealing to young working ladies. Estee Lauder started coming out with more serums which are pretty damn good. Definitely no longer an “auntie” brand in my books.
A few months ago, I had the pleasure of trying out their Resilience Lift Firming/Sculpting Face and Neck Creme with SPF15. It couldn’t have come in a better time; I wasn’t happy with my moisturier back then, and was looking for something that could give me an extra oomph during the day, just as well as my evening skincare products could.
Description:
Powered by our exclusive Photo-Activated Lift Complex, Resilience Lift day formulas harness the beneficial power of visible light. Featuring a light-responsive enzyme (Plankton Extract), mineral (Malachite) and plant extract (Mimosa) to help skin amplify its natural collagen and elastin production. Over time, skin’s strength, resiliency and volume are renewed and you’ll see a remarkably younger, revitalized look. Immediately, skin looks more radiantly alive and fresher-younger. As you use it, facial contours appear sculpted and newly defined. Lines and wrinkles look more smoothed out and lifted away. An advanced blend of lipids and more infuse skin with rich, lasting moisture.
Geez whiz, but that name’s a mouthful. For this review, I’ll simply refer to it as The Creme.
The Creme has a rich, creamy texture. The very light pinkish tone disappears onto the skin when blended. Even though the cream feels slightly rich for my combination skin, it absorbs very quickly and does not leave the skin feeling greasy or icky.
After using it daily for over a month, it was as though my skin had a revelation and decided to behave. And not just behave too, but excel. Even on my first day of using it, I could see the difference. My skin looked brighter and the moisturiser made it easier for my foundation to hold on to. It was love at first application.
The Creme is what I call ‘my luxury cream for the day’. I’ve never had a luxury cream to use during the day, as I tend to save all the good stuff to use at night. But when I couple this with the Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator serum, my skin never looked better. I particularly like using this on days when I have to look my best. My skin appears smooth, radiant and it, dare I say it, glows.
The only thing I don’t really like about the moisturiser is the scent. There are mixed opinions on this because there are a lot of people who like the scent, but to be honest, I do find it a tad strong. Sometimes, especially on the second day of my period when my sense of smell seems to be at its peak, it can get far too cloying for me. But on most days, it’s definitely bearable. If my skin loves it enough to show it, I can jolly well instruct my nose to shut up 😛
Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Firming/Sculpting Face and Neck Creme SPF15 retails at AU$140 for 50ml. It’s expensive but given how rich it is, you only need very little on the skin per application. I’ve only used it a couple of months, and I still have so much left. At this rate, I’ll give it well over 6 months before repurchasing.
What I like about it: Luxurious texture, skin feels brighter and firmer, contains SPF
What I do not like about it: Scent is a little strong for me
