Today’s post is not really beauty-related, but the experience was sponsored by a beauty brand and it’s one of the best things beauty blogging has brought me. It’s just to exciting for me not to write about it.
On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of scoring two tickets to the Australian Open, which also included VIP access to the ao club. My plus one for the evening for the very lucky husband, who’s a tennis fan and he was beside himself with excitement all day waiting to catch the match live. The whole evening was very kindly sponsored by Dove.
Tim finally makes an appearance on the blog ๐
I watch tennis on the telly every now and then, although I do admit it wasn’t really my thing given that I’ve never played tennis before. But to catch the game live, and from such fantastic seats and view, it was very hard not to enjoy the game and cheer along with the crowd.
We first had dinner at the ao club before commencing to the court. Caught sight of an Aussie celebrity (Winners and Losers‘ย Melissa Bergland) during dinner, but didn’t take any pictures then. I was also hoping to check out the Dove marquee before going to the game, but unfortunately, by the time we got there, it was closed. It’s usually very crowded during the day, and there’s always a long queue to the marquee as Dove hands out heaps of freebies to visitors ๐
As for the game, how awesome were our seats? Second row from the front!
The matches that night was Lleyton Hewitt vs Cedrik-Marcel Stebe, and Serena Williams vs Tamira Paszek. The mens singles lasted 4 hours! Hewitt had incredible home ground advantage as the crowd just couldn’t stop cheering him on. The atmosphere was really good, and I found myself cheering hard too. Needless to say, Tim was a bit of a nutter shouting and cheering next to me ๐
The moment when Hewitt won
Along with my plus one were my MBBE girls. Poor Tim had to endure a lot of beauty talk that night. Things became more interesting when the girls found out he’s able to prescribe *ahem* Botox *ahem* ๐
It was about 11.30pm when the ladies singles match started, and I was exhausted by then. Still, we managed to catch a bit of the game before heading home. I finally saw Serena Williams in person, and lordy she’s a big woman. No, not fat, but very muscular, and definitely intimidating. She was really cranky when the game finally started, which I suppose was from waiting too long for the men to finish their game.
All in all, it was a truly exciting and unforgettable evening, which Tim and I thoroughly enjoyed. Many thanks to Dove for such an amazing experience. If you’re at the Australian Open, don’t forget to check out the Dove marquee. You may even score yourself complimentary hand massages! ๐
