Note on Muse2 – its an effing finicky thing esp to get used to the closure & it can be stiff. Its adorable, but go for the Alma Paris B recently posted..From Shoes to Perfumes : Jimmy Choo – The Fragrance
Paris: I’ve seen the Muse2 with LeGeeque, but I don’t think I actually played with it to know how it’s like. I know all these from her and you. Ahem ahem π
Giddy Tigress: I’m not usually a fan of patent leather. Or Louis Vuitton for that matter. But I can’t get that Monogram Vernis collection out of my head, I don’t know why. They actually look good. Ahhhhh temptation temptation!
Ooooh, loving the Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu ones π I don’t know, lately I’ve been eyeing Marc Jacobs’ bags a lot, especially their nylon totes which I find quite cute and light.
I’m personally not a huge fan of totes much because I tend to carry a lot of stuff and carrying a tote on one shoulder tends to take a toll on both my shoulder and my back. I can’t carry it on my other shoulder due to my mild scoliosis, which makes carrying totes on the other shoulder difficult as it’ll keep slipping off. Prefer messenger or bags that can be slung over the shoulder so I can carry it on either shoulder π But totes do still look good- I have a few (And an old Marc Jacobs Miss Marc one) which I still do use when I’m not carrying a load of stuff haha! Stephanie: I’m actually surprised that the Marc by Marc Jacobs bag is 600 pounds, which means it’s almost AU$1k, because MMJ aren’t usually that expensive. Then again, it IS quite a big tote, so I suppose the price goes to all that leather.
I’m quite a fan of totes and shoulder bags, preferably if the tote comes WITH a shoulder strap, so I get an all-in-one. I do carry the kitchen sink with me when I’m out so I need something sturdy and a shoulder strap as well (if possible) π
Hahaha I find that leather bags do tend to be more expensive, so maybe that’s why π
Ah yes, I love it when they come with a shoulder strap, then I wouldn’t mind it being a tote! π But then again, some shoulder straps can be quite thin so it can cut into the shoulder, so I prefer something thicker haha! Stephanie/Yukaeshi recently posted..Sunday Tip #1
Hello! I have been following your blog for awhile now so thought I’d introduce myself π I too am a fellow Melburnian lass. I was previously more so into culinary delights but you just may have transformed me to pursue beauty instead π
May I just add my 2 cents on totes please as this was one of my previous pleasures? π
1) I own a fair few totes, the Alma and 2 Speedies amongst the collection but other than the Speedy 30, I hardly take them out. The Alma is gorgeous but very dressy and in my humble opinion, looks best on a corporate women used as her briefcase which I originally bought it for versus a day out in town. The only downside she has is that she is rather cumbersome to zip open and close.
2) I am a huge fan of Miu Miu (oddly, I am adverse to her older sister Prada and have donated my early collection to my baby sister!) and I have to say that I adore their line of soft yet oh-so-sturdy bags! I don’t own the famous bow bag but a beige coffer instead and although this is not a tote, I find myself toting this more so than any of my other ladies as she is very versatile by possessing 2 straps.
May I impress you further by telling you that Miu Miu’s customer service is impeccable. After carrying tons in my Miu Miu (heavy SLR included!) for a year, the metal ring on one of the straps gave way. Additionally, my braided handle had slightly worn away from rubbing against my jeans (yes, this is the unfortunate thing about toting lighter hue bags but I believe firmly that all bags should be used to their maximum capability).
I trotted to Miu Miu and discovered that all their bags have a 2 year warranty. So off she went to Italy to be repaired and when she arrived 6 weeks later, she was not only fixed but they had replaced the entire braid! This entire process was not only pain free but also gratis.
Oh man, you love bags too? We could be fast friends! π
I have the Prada Saffiano, which I absolutely love. I’ve been to Miu Miu several times at Chadstone, but haven’t purchased anything from the store, so I’m not sure about the service (although I have spoken to the staff of several occasions, and so far so good). Which store do you frequent?
That Prada bag is gorgeous! – I may have to give the elder sister another look π
The love affair with the younger sibling began in the DJ boutique and I fast became friends with a lovely SA there. So lovely that I got a wallet there just because she was so nice! She has now transferred to Chadstone and I pop in sometimes just to say hello to her π
Unfortunately, their wallets aren’t the most durable due to the nature of their soft leather and I wouldn’t recommend them. I went straight back to my Sarah and Zippy (both in vernis) which I’ve had for years with nay a scratch or wear and tear to be seen.
Thirty-something. Gemini. Happily married. Mum to a furkid. Loves shopping. Has an unhealthy adoration for makeup, bags, shoes and chocolate. Believes that sunscreen should be a religion. Hates baked beans with a vengeance. Thinks that the weekdays should be a weekend long, vice versa. Optimistic. Narcissistic. Not the average Jane. (wait, there's more!)

PB might have a good point on Muse2. Played with it in DJ today. They had it in the multicolour blocking one. Interesting but not me.
Note on Alma: DO NOT ever buy a strap to go with it. But on it’s on, highly-recommended. Get it so we can be twins!
The Prada is cute like we’d seen today.
After all these years of dithering, I think I might never be destined for a Saffiano nor classic flap. And it’s actually fine by me!
I’m all bagged out. Really. Offer me a Kelly, I’d ebay it for 10 times the price and pay off my mortgage.
OEI! WHERE’S YOUR LADY DIOR?!
