Long time readers will know that I very rarely do Face-of-the-Day (FOTD) posts. That’s because I’m seriously hopeless in makeup application, and cannot even come close to the many beauty bloggers who are makeup geniuses. Yes, and I call myself a beauty blogger too. For shame!
However, for today, I thought I’d share a little something with you which I did up just for fun, featuring some of the makeup that I’m loving at the moment.
Please forgive the very unsightly brows. I’m currently growing them out for Allison to fix them up. The line that looks like brown eyebrow pencil straying away from the brows is the remnant of eyebrow embroidery which I had done over a year ago. I’m still waiting for it to fade completely. My brows look like two caterpillars fighting on my forehead.
What I used to create the look:
Face: Face of Australia Mineral Therapy Liquid Foundation, Face of Australia Translucent Loose Powder, Revlon PhotoReady Concealer
Eyes: Australis Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Eyeshadow in Snap Attack, Nutrimetics Liquid Eye Definer Eye Liner
Cheeks: MeMeMe Cosmetics Blush Me! in Coral
Lips: Savoir Faire Cosmetics in Miss You
A very simple, everyday look which I’m glad did not take me long to do. I’m also learning how to use liquid eyeliner properly albeit slowly, which is a big improvement.
Be kind darlings. Tine has a tiny ego 😛
Gambate! I think learning how to apply makeup is like learning to ride a bicycle. You tremble and fall and make a mess of yourself with scrapes and blood, but then one day you just can cycle and you will be able to cycle for the rest of your life. Haha! At least that’s how I see it! =D

Bun Bun: Hahaha I LOVE your comment. Brilliantly said. It’s like riding a bike! 😛
I’m still practising the liquid eyeliner, and trying to combat the shaky hands. The first time I put on the liquid eyeliner for this post, I smudged it, and had to remove and redo. Hopefully I’ll be able to master this skill soon, because the next thing I really want to learn to do properly is apply false eyelashes. I don’t wear them, but I have to learn how to put them on 😛
You look cute! It looks very natural and youthful, and I especially like the blush. 🙂
RM recently posted..NYX Black Label Lipsticks Swatches
RM: Thanks! Phew. What a relief y’all don’t hate it 😛
I find the blush the highlight of the look. It’s my favourite part too 🙂
Aww you look so pretty and cute Tine! Do more FOTD!!!
Tina recently posted..A Lazy Girl’s Guide to Losing Weight and Keeping It Off
Tina: Aww thanks T. That means a lot coming from you. Absolutely love your FOTD looks. My favourite’s the Shanghai one 😛
Looking naturally gorgeous! Agree with Tina – more FOTD’s please 😀
Ling recently posted..Australia BB Cream Reviews
Ling: Thanks Ling. I contemplated hard on posting it, ‘cos I’m nowhere as good as you 😛
Ooh and also just noticed your hair colour looks really good!
Ling recently posted..Australia BB Cream Reviews
Ling: Hahahah thanks! That’s Jacky and Zarah of Oscar Oscar Salon’s work! 😛
bring on more FOTDs already! 😀
PS: the Blush Me! reminds me so much of Benefit’s Box o’ Powders..
PPS: I envy your thick brows – mine are sparse and barely show up in photos if I don’t fill them in!! >.<
beetrice recently posted..My Women Stuff Readers’ Choice Awards 2011 – EPIC! 😀
Beetrice: Yeah, the MeMeMe blush looks very much like Benefit’s blushes. They’re packaged the same way. In fact, this reminds me of Georgia, but a lot more pigmented.
About the brows, thanks! Btw, I just had my brows done yesterday, and thank God, they’re looking much better now. This post’s brows just makes me go yuck 😛 Oh, and don’t do eyebrow embroidery even if your brows are thin. I know I used to rave about them, but now I think they’re just a bit too artificial looking. You’re much better off filling them in.
Love love love! I also vote in favour of more FOTD 🙂

I am learning make up too.. and youtubed ‘smokey eyes for the asian eyes’…LOL!
would love more FOTD! 🙂
Goingkookies recently posted..Love Learn and Live
Kookies: I can’t seem to get the whole smokey eyes thing right. I’ve youtubed, but I just can’t seem to bring depth to my non-existent crease and all that. Argh frustrating 🙁
oooh well, i haven’t learnt how to achieve it using brushes.. do it better with my fingers.
you try using your middle or ring finger, dab a bit in a dark shade, and smudge your eye lid from d middle part near to your eye lid outwards… and just keep blending till the smokiness is to your preference.. try it and see if it works ya
Goingkookies recently posted..Nuffnang Blog Awards, Here I Come
Kookies: I’ve actually never tried it with my fingers. Hmmm…I’ll give it a go. Thanks! 😀
Very pretty look! The MeMeMe blush looks really nice but I’ve never heard of this brand before. Will go google it 😉
lyn recently posted..Ettusais Medicated Acne Emollient Supplizer
Lyn: It’s a UK brand. Their makeup’s pretty cute 😛
I like the look of the blush! (yes, me and my blushes 😛 ) I also like the Harlequin look of the eyeshadow palette AND above all, I love how fresh and natural you look 😀 I’m bad at doing FOTD shots too – doing the makeup is fine. Taking photos can kill me 😛 But I have a confession. I like seeing natural day to day looks on blogs since fancy makeup doesn’t quite grab my.. er… fancy 🙂 Good job Tine!

ParisB: Woohoo the guru approves! 😀 I actually love seeing theatrical eye makeup, which is why I absolutely love blogs like Celina’s of fablesinfashion.com.
Going to try doing shoots like this more. Helps me practise. But yeah, taking the photos is a pain in the behind. Have to take heaps and heaps of pictures just to get the angle, light, etc etc right 😛
I love your thick eyebrows! I wanna steal some of the eyebrow of my sparse one!
Espenine: Hahaha thanks 😀 Erm, here have some of mine? 😛
i like the blush too!!! looks really pretty!
xin recently posted..Spraying Fun: GoWoonSeSang High Protection Sun Spray SPF 50 PA+++ Review
Xin: The highlight of the makeup for me was the blush, which I really like. Reminds me of Benefit’s Georgia but a lot more pigmented 😛
Your liner work looks spot on! Great job! Really digging those cheeks. So pretty!

You look so cute and natural, Tine! That could be one of my everyday-go-to looks too!
Your skin looks like porcelain here, and your smile is adorable! <3
Jess recently posted..Review: Clé de Peau Beauté Base Makeup
Jess: Awwww thanks Jess. You’re making me blush over the blush. Tee hee 😛 xx
I really love your creation darl, it’s a gorgeous natural look that is very classy 🙂 I can relate to your hesitance about posting your own makeup looks online as I have only recently developed the confidence to share my photo’s as well, hehe. A year ago I wouldn’t have even contemplated posting a photo of me on here, but thanks to encouragement and support from fellow beauties I have stepped out from behind my former shadow and have the guts to give it a crack 😉 I have no makeup skills what so ever, but have lots of fun trying. I recon you did a pretty marvelous job here with this look as the precision of your eyeliner is clearly visible and looking near perfect from where I am sitting 😉 I love the colour on your lips, it suits your complexion and compliments your pretty eyes 🙂
Mel recently posted..EOTD – Pink & Gold
Mel: Thanks Mel. I’m so glad you liked it. I was really nervous putting it up because I’m still learning heaps when it comes to makeup. Erm, I didn’t do a closeup of the eyeliner on the other eye because, erm, I kinda smudged it 😛
Next skill to master – the doggone false eyelashes!
Tine, I actually think your eyebrows look wonderful. I love thick eyebrows! You look fantastic here, hope you do more FOTD’s because I love them!!!
Megan recently posted..Eccentric Cosmetics – Ruins of the Future Collection
Tine: Thanks Megs. Your encouragement really helps! 😀
Very nicely done, Tine! This would be a look I would sport any day too, I especially love the eyes and cheeks! Subtle and yet natural …very demure.
And yes, like Beetrice, I too noticed that the box of blush looks SO much like Benefit’s
Giddy Tigress: Hahaha when I first saw the blush, that was exactly what I was thinking. Benefit! 😛 This MeMeMe blush in Coral is similar to Georgia, but a lot more pigmented.
You look so pretty and fresh! Love the blush too.

Issa: Aww thanks Issa! 😀
Tine: Yep yep I hear you girlfriend, honestly I have never been brave enough to attempt the doggone false eyelashes either, bwahahaha. Make sure you post a ‘How To’ and I will learn off you 😉

it’s a pretty and refreshed fotd. you should do more fotd. i always like to see ‘everyday’ makeup even though it can be repeated.
it took me a while to have the courage to post my face on my blog. since i like makeup (though i’m not that great with applications) and a picture says a thousand words about looks i do. it’s just an obsticle i need to jump through.
coco recently posted..happy 2nd blogaversary
Coco: Thanks lovely. It definitely was (and still is) an obstacle to jump through. I’ve heard of beauty bloggers getting less than savoury comments on their FOTD posts (even the conventional) ones, which was why I was nervous as heck. I’m so relieved people don’t hate it *phew* 😛
love the last photo – you look radiant! i like how it was subtle yet polished for an everyday fresh look.
dom recently posted..Review: Kose Medicated Seikisho Whitening Mask
