I’ll be honest. I was completely wiped out on Day 1. I was out like a light as soon as my head touched the pillow. Still, I was highly looking forward to what Day 2 of the ABBW would bring.
DAY 2
Alpha-H Breakfast
The morning started off with breakfast at the Novotel hosted by Alpha-H. I may or may not have had too many of the delicious spinach quiches that morning; my apologies to those who wanted one and was left with fruit 😛
After brekkie, we adjourned to the function room. We were introduced to the brand by Channel 7 TV presenter Karen Ledbury, who was a guest speaker at the event. Alpha-H director Michelle Doherty and national salon trainer Bianca Georgiou then introduced their bestselling product to us, which is the Alpha-H Liquid Gold range. Each blogger was given a trial pack of the Liquid Gold Skin Perfecting System to try out. I’ve only used their Gentle Daily Exfoliant, which I really liked, so I’m very keen on giving the Liquid Gold range a go.
When the Alpha-H event was over, the Melbourne girls were roped in to help Tina out in setting up the room for the Face of Australia Masterclass. It was a lot of fun setting up the tables, placing mirrors on the tables, goodie bags, randomly sticking beauty products as prizes under the chairs.
Face of Australia Masterclass
And so the Face of Australia Masterclass began. We’ve been accustomed to Tina, the hot cat-lady blogger (don’t mess with her and her cats :P), but that Sunday, she was Tina Henry, the hot brand manager for Face of Australia. She conducted the masterclass, with a makeup demonstration by freelance makeup artist Kirsty Dolores. Best of all, all of us had the chance to play with Face of Australia makeup!
Keynote Address by Bahar Etminan
After a short break for lunch, it was time for the last event of the weekend. We had a keynote speaker for the weekend, Bahar Etminan, who is the founder of Rescu. The event was sponsored by Proctor & Gamble, who also gave us some haircare goodies to take home. She gave a talk about blogging, hobbyists vs professionals, and how you can turn beauty blogging into a business. The topic sparked a debate amongst the bloggers on Twitter and offline, which I found very interesting.
A few of us had to leave right after the final event, as we had to catch the 5.15pm flight back to Melbourne. ‘Twas a pity I couldn’t stay longer, as I would have loved to speak to more bloggers. There are still a number of them that I regretted not saying hello to.
In short, the Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend was a huge success. It was a great weekend to meet the faces of the blogs we frequented, of the people we tweeted and for a whole lot of networking opportunities. My heartfelt appreciation goes to Jacie and Kimmi, who have spent months and sleepless nights planning the wonderful weekend for us. I can’t wait for ABBW 2012!
Tomorrow, I’ll show you the “loot” from ABBW. Believe you me, it’s massive 😉
It truly was a success! I am loving all the different posts on ABBW 😀 Miss it already.
Tina the hot cat-lady blogger is SUCH a perfect description btw haha!!

Hmmm maybe time to change my blogger card – don’t know about the hot bit but cat-lady blogger is a title I definitely can carry off XD
