I’ve been re-organizing my vanity a.k.a work desk but most them are kept in drawers and trays, stationery box even skin care jar comes in handy. Stackable boxes are very useful too when spaces are limited. It’s difficult for me to expose them, my room gets dusty very fast!
Traclyn: I thought the desk from IKEA Hacker was brilliant. Great for small spaces, and it still looks very chic 🙂
I’m looking for good stackable boxes too. I’ve seen the ones at Daiso, but they didn’t really appeal to me. Will have to keep looking.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!! I feel so sorry for my current makeup spaces both in MY and SG now. This list just started a whole new kind of lemming in me… bad #evurl enabler Tine! 😛 rinnah recently posted..Style File : Ross-Simons Safekeeper Wall Mirror Jewelry Cabinet
Lily: Hahaha me too. I’m normally real messy when I’m about to go out for a big event and I really need to step up my game in terms of makeup. I’ll have brushes, powders, creams, etc all over the vanity desk, with bits of fallout all over the place 😛
I love looking at these, my area just doesn’t have the charm since it’s basically a bedside table with some plastic office storage drawers on top of it! One day I’ll have something like this Megan recently posted..The Meaning of Makeup
Love it so much!!!!!!!!!!
All the settings and storage…
Arghh.. Wish I can have one…
Where to get those plastic ‘drawers’ as in picture 2 and 5?
I want your room so much! Stephy recently posted..Review: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream
Stephy: Those plastic drawers, especially picture 5, can be purchased from IKEA.
Err those aren’t my rooms though, although I really wish they are 😛
this is definitely awesome idea for my little project!!!! but i think it’s cost me a bunch so need to source for cheaper versions of this…
i want the dressing table 4th pic from the bottom, so lovely! and the fira boxes… sigh, why did ikea evee discontinued them… plue recently posted..NOPS Green Clay Pore Mask
Plue: I think you can do something similar with ideas from IKEA. I’ve seen some of their readymade furniture and they’re really good! For me, IKEA’s the way to go in terms of sourcing things like this cheaply. Yeah, it sucks though, when they discontinue really good and popular items.
omg the IKEA Hacker is just lovely!! You don’t need to open the drawers to find the things you’re just looking. Just look at them from the top and pull it out! Lovely! And less time consuming too. omgomgomg. nice! biianca recently posted..Short Break –
Biianca: I was actually at IKEA yesterday afternoon, and I saw the same desk! It’s actually quite long to begin with, although very narrow. Still very pretty nevertheless 🙂
Teehee… all very lovely and ideal but in reality, I think most of us couldn’t keep it up if you use your makeup daily 🙂 I clear my vanity up at the end of the week and by the following week, its all a mess again because I keep picking out different things here and there to use. But definitely something to aspire to 🙂 I’m not touching my storage for now but if/when I move, I’ll be sure to get something properly done up then 😉 Paris B recently posted..She Moves in Mysterious (Beige) Ways: Lunasol Three Dimensional Eyes, Brushes And Gratuitous Pictures
Paris B: Hahaha very true. Preparing for an event or a night out, my dressing area is always ridiculously messy because I keep taking this and that out 😛
I’m really keen on one of those popular IKEA Alex drawers (not sure if that’s what it’s called), but it’s about $280 here which is nuts. Then again, as LeGeeque said, if I need an extra set of drawers like that to store my makeup, I definitely have way, waaaaaayyy too much 😛
Harshleen: I think it’s safe to say that in reality, our vanity is no way as organised as these “designed for photography” photos 😛 Still, it’s something to aspire to, no? 😉
Seriously, when I saw these pictures my jaw just dropped. i love all of these….especially Jane Goddard and the Shelterness. Although Ikea Hacker is probably the one most within my reach. blue recently posted..Building a work wardrobe: Loft & Ann Taylor

My skincare/cosmetic wardrobe isn’t anything close to the photos. I wish I could at least have one of them though.

I saw the narrow table (last picture) at IKEA over the weekend. It looks even better in real life, although it was a lot longer than I imagined.
