I am incredibly proud and ashamed of myself at the same time in reporting my beauty shopping haul for July.
The reason I’m giving myself a pat on the back? I only purchased three beauty items all July. Three! How awesome is that? Okay to be fair, I did buy a pair of shoes and a bag last month, but since this is titled a beauty haul, I am off the hook, baby!
My beauty purchase for July – two lipsticks from MAC and Kit Cosmetics, and a shower cap from Bloom.
Here comes the part where I’m duly ashamed of myself. I stupidly bought two lipsticks which are very similar in shade and texture. I deserve a smack on the back of my head for these redundant, at-the-spur-of-the-moment purchases, I really do. I have this unexplainable attraction to all things coral, and these lipsticks just cried out to me. Being a weakling that I am, I just had to rescue them out of the shop and into my purse. I completely forgot I had already purchased the MAC lippie at the beginning of the month when I took home a similar one from Kit a few weeks later. Tsk tsk.
I wonder if I can do this well in August. Come the end of the month, we’ll see, eh?
What about you? Have you been good in July? If you haven’t, oh please regale me with your shopping tales. As you can see, mine was a dud 😛
SUPER good. Only 1 Hermes scarf. 😛
LeGeeque: Right. Your one item = my many items in 2-3 months. Do I want many items or 1 Hermes scarf?
The latter, surely 😛
Omg. You’re so good! I wish I could get my beauty spending down to only 3 items a month!
Aaryn: I had no idea I only bought three items in July. Honest! 😛
oh but they are such pretty colours Tine… which one do you recommend more? I was after a nice reddish coral shade for the warmer weather anyway.
Lilpil: I recommend the one from Kit Cosmetics. It’s creamier. I find the MAC one a tad dry.
I’m the blogger who stood next to you (as we were lining up to get our tags at Blogopolis) and said “Hi, you’re a beauty blogger!! Right?!”
You must never regret a coral lipstick rescue mission. I’m a firm believer that each lipstick has a divine purpose to find its true home. Celebrate such purchases with the knowledge that the lipstick has fulfilled its destiny.
Eleanor (from your commentbox) x
Eleanor: I remember you! Hello Eleanor from the Comment Box! Love that name by the way.
Well, with what you said, heck then all my 35243 lipstick purchases are completely justified. YES! 😀
Hmmm. My beauty haul for July was…
1. Sephora Professionel Mineral Powder Brush #45 (Love this brush!)
2. Sephora Professionel Contour Blush/Bronzer Brush #43 (Kind of impulse buy, got it before the above, love it too but not as much as the above)
3. Clarins Body Shaping Cream (To help with water retention and it works wonderfully!)
4. MAC Gem Of Roses lipstick from the Semi-Precious collection (Love it!)
Non-beauty hauls include another dress from Desigual, a maxi dress from F Block and a lot of books haha 😀
Stephanie/Yukaeshi: I’m so jealous you guys have Sephora now. Their makeup range is lovely, and affordable too from what I remembered (US prices, that is). Awesome haul!
Wow that’s quite an achievement! 😀 I’ve succumbed to buying a lip balm during the month of July because I’m still on my makeup shopping ban ):
Biianca: One lipbalm?! Even though it’s a shopping ban, seriously that is amazing perseverance! I’ve tried a shopping ban. I’m too weak, had to succumb 😛
Kit Firelighter & MAC Vegas Volt are 2 different lipsticks in my opinion, so it wasn’t a stupid purchase at all!! I actually prefer Vegas Volt than Kit as it’s brighter on me & when it wears off it doesn’t go as patchy like Kit does.
Akisa: Hahahaha thanks for making me feel better 😛 I thought they looked so similar on the lips, that’s why I thought it was a redundant purchase. Although I did experience the opposite from you though; patchy MAC, smoother Kit.
That’s why makeup is so much fun. It’s different for everyone! 🙂
