I’ve seen Soap & Glory products around for several years now, first in Boots at Bangkok and then in Australia. The package is oh-so-cute, with amusing names like Sexy Motherpucker *giggle*. For some reason, the scent of the products never did appeal to me, and that’s why I didn’t bother to pick any items up till about a month ago.
This hand cream came highly recommended by LeGeeque. She uses this religiously and asked me to try hers. I didn’t expect to like the hand cream. I’m not a fan of very sweet scents, and I certainly do not like products that states ‘marshmallow’ as a scent. They often smell cloyingly sweet, which gives me a headache.
Description:
Hand Food is a silky soft non-greasy hand cream with shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow. Mend a hand? Apply Hand Food Hand Cream as often as you want to soften, smooth and soothe dry, chapped or otherwise hampered hands. Soft, smooth and hydrated hands. The most astonishing hand cream ever? You decide!
So how is it that I like this hand cream so much that after using LeGeeque’s stash a few times, I just had to get myself one?
It smells pretty darn awesome, that’s why. It doesn’t have that cloying sweet scent, but delicious enough to still go mmmmm when you give your hands a whiff.
Best of all, it doesn’t leave any greasiness on your skin after application. I’m very particular about this when choosing hand creams; a hand cream must be absorbed quick enough that I don’t have to wait more than a minute to use the keyboard, phone, etc.
It doesn’t stay on the skin long enough to keep it hydrated all day though, so multiple applications are needed. But hey, I’m not complaining because it smells oh so good. This tube is now sitting proudly next to my digital radio on my bedside table, ready to be used before bed. Love it!
Soap & Glory Hand Food retails at AU$11.95 for 125ml and is available at Kit Cosmetics. Cheap as!
What I like about it: Absorbs very quickly, leaves no icky, oily residue after application, smells yummy. Affordable too.
What I do not like about it: Nothing
That’s because it’s not marshmallow the candy, but marshmallow the flower =D
Welcome to the S&G fan club!
Kahani: The flower you say? No wonder lah! Well played, Soap and Glory, well played 😉
i tried this when I was in Sephora earlier, but I thought it was oily and heavy… >.< now i need to go try it another round!
Plue: It looks heavy, goes on slightly heavy, but when you spread it out on your hands, it’s light and absorbs very quickly 🙂
i would definitely love to get this too! i have finished the body lotion already 😉
Xin: Oooh I wanna try that one next! Or the body butter, whichever tickles my fancy quicker 😛
Hey dearie! Kahani first introduced me to this hand cream a few years back, and I’m in love with it till today. The scent is refreshingly delicious! Welcome to the club! *tee hee*
Have you tried anything else from Soap & Glory?
Syen: Hello hello! *waves to the members of the S&G club* Haven’t tried anything else yet. I want to try the body wash and body butter 😀
wow, i’m intrigued about this product! looks good…
Issa: Do check it out! They at least have cute packaging 😛
I have very dry hands so if this needs to reapply several times throughout the day I’m not sure it’d work for me. Shame though, the scent sounds lovely.
Gio: Aww that’s a pity. This does smell lovely. That’s saying something because I’d normally hate sweet scents (florals are more my thing). What hand cream do you use on your hands?
marshmellow! omg omg.
i’m currently using Body Shop’s Hand cream, but it smells like a bunch of flowers.
a bit too flower-scent for me. I’ve always wanted to try something sweet like this. thanks for the review
