Mecca Cosmetica sure knows how to get a girl’s nails looking oh so pretty for winter with this season’s latest collection, The Sophisticates.
Mariana – creamy sheer apricot, creamy texture, but I found it pretty streaky. Three coats were required for an opaque finish.
Virgilia – a rich raspberry, so easy to apply. One coat was sufficient for that lovely, glossy finish.
Mopsa – a shade of cool donkey (what does that mean anyway? A donkey that has cool tones? A stylo-Milo* donkey? Eh?), another easy one to apply. Two coats required.
I really like how the nail polishes are named after Shakespearian female characters. Sure you can do the usual word play (hello OPI!), but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with using names from the classics. I can’t decide which I like more, Virgilia or the cool donkey Mopsa. What the heck, both get two enthusiastic thumbs up from me.
Mecca Cosmetica’s Painted Beauty Glide-on Nail Colour The Sophisticates Collection retails at AU$22 for 15ml per nail lacquer and is available exclusively at Mecca Cosmetica counters and stores.
