I started out late wearing makeup. We weren’t allowed any smidgeon of makeup in school, and the most I wore in college was tinted lipbalm and a unibrow. It was only when I started working in my early twenties that I started experimenting with blush. I remembered my first blush; it was something by Estee Lauder, a simple pink blush which was a gift-with-purchase. It was the only blush I’ve ever hit pan with and repurchased, simply because I didn’t know what else to buy.
When I saw Face of Australia’s blusher in Outback Primrose, it took me back to that tiny, unassuming Estee Lauder compact.
As with most of Face of Australia products, the packaging is simple. Outback Primrose is a pretty pink blush that is actually smooth and pigmented. Even the swatch photo doesn’t show it, this baby packs quite a punch. A couple of gentle swipes of the powder, onto the cheeks, and I’m done. It’s a basic in any lady’s makeup kit.
A light hand is needed when swiping the brush on the powder because you can end up looking like a doll if you’re not careful (unless you want to. I’ll leave that decision to you :P)
Another winner from Face of Australia. This really is a brand that could.
Face of Australia’s blushers retail at AU$9.45 and is available at Priceline, Kmart and Target stores nationwide.
Are those warts? O_O
Anon: That bit below my temple? No they’re not. It’s a skin condition I have for many years now. Dermatologists have seen it, and I’m afraid I can’t remember the exact name. It’s nothing serious. I suspect it was from a particular skincare product I used a long time ago.
I’ve been going at my Clinique blush the past few weeks, but this is a lovely shade of blush! 🙂 I’m loving that nail polish from FOA btw…
Beetrice: It is! You want? Let me know 😉
The FOA nail polishes are good, right? They don’t last very long though; then again, I never go past 3 days with the same nail polish.
Are you wearing any foundation? If not, your bare skin looks amazing! If so, your foundation looks really natural – either way, I’m jealous!
Lynne: Aww thanks Lynne! I had a thin layer of Bourjois’ Healthy Mix Serum Gel foundation on. Definitely NOT bare skin 😉
What a pretty colour- exactly the tone I go for, must throw this in the basket next time I’m in Priceline, be rude not to for that price!!
Me, my best and I: I had such a laugh at that line! “be rude not to for that price”. Hahahaha very good one. And you’re so right!
oh yes, face of australia was my school time makeup kit lol i think i had the their amazing palettes till 2005
xoxo elle
ps: i have keloids on my chest, is it the same?
Elle: I can’t believe I missed it for so long. It’s just one of those brands that Priceline overlooks and place nearer to the middle of the store rather than in front with the big guns like L’oreal, Maybelline, etc. They have some really good stuff.
I don’t remember if the dermie said that thing on my face is a keloid though. Do yours look remotely like that? I’m just afraid it’ll grow bigger. I can hide it if it’s on my chest, but it’s freakin’ on my face! :O
