Recently, L’Oreal launched the Perfect Clean range, comprising the Foaming Gel Wash for normal/combination skin, Foaming Cream Wash for dry/sensitive skin and Foaming Gentle Scrub. I found the shape so cute, I just had to give it a go. And since I have combination skin, I opted for the blue bottle.
Description:
Perfect Clean changes the face of cleansing with the Scrubletâ„¢, a soft & flexible cleansing brush. Perfect Clean gently removes dirt, oil & make-up for a deep pore cleansing experience. Oil free, this formula is specifically adapted for normal & combination skin. Gently cleansed, your skin is left soft and smooth.
I read somewhere that some ladies likened the cleanser and cleansing brush to a manual Clarisonic. Now I’ve only used the Clarisonic once, 2 years ago, so I cannot comment on that.
The hole in the middle of the bottle is for you to attach and detach the Scrublet. The rubbery buff gave me the giggles; it has very soft bristles that just made me wanna massage my face with it over and over. Yes I’m weird that way.
As a standalone cleanser without using the Scrublet, it’s pretty much a standard gel cleanser. It doesn’t give me the squeaky clean feeling, removes dirt and makeup well, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight and dry. With the rubbery thingy, it cleanses the skin even better.
I do not use the Scrublet during the day, only at night to remove all the impurities gathered on my skin. Even though the bristles are soft, I didn’t want to risk giving myself extra fine lines with the excessive exfoliating.
One small snag to the gel cleanser though – I don’t really care for the scent. I had a tough time trying to decipher the fragrance and how I would describe it. Initially I thought it smelled rather clinical. After a while, I realised that it just smelled like men’s cologne. Or men’s body wash. I don’t really know how to describe. Next time you’re at a drugstore, do give it a whiff and see if you know what I mean.
L’Oreal Perfect Clean cleansers retail at AU$12.99 for 150ml and is available at all leading pharmacies and supermarkets.
What I like about it: The rubbery thingy amuses me immensely (I don’t know why), it cleanses the skin well without drying it.
What I do not like about it: Don’t really like the scent.
this line isn’t available in this part of the world, but I did get a dupe of the scrublet from Daiso for SG2 – very addictive too! 😀
I love using the scrublet to get my Himalaya Herbals mask off – or to add scrubby power to any other clay mask.
