After missing out on a few of Primped‘s Look Book events, I was really excited to be selected to attend one this month (incidentally, also in conjunction with Melbourne’s Spring Fashion week). Many thanks to Val, who alerted me of the event.
I had difficulty finding a plus one for the evening. Everyone I asked couldn’t make it that day. Rather than putting it to waste, I contacted Val about it, and after a few tweets, Mel became my plus one. Good thing too, as it was a great opportunity to finally meet face-to-face.
The one-hour session at David Jones was mainly about introducing new trends of the season, e.g. coppery shades of eyeshadows, bright red lippies, sculpted skin, perfectly polished hair, nearly nude nails and more. Expert after expert talked about how to keep hair luxurious, ultra-soft and shiny (answer: argan oil), how to wear bright red lipstick without teeth looking yellow (answer: well, you just have to try them out to see which suits you. In general, if you don’t have perfectly white teeth, avoid orange-based red lippies), etc.
The beautifully made up Akisa and me, sporting a bad photo moment and shiny (read: oily) skin. This photo basically told me to bloody chuck that foundation of mine.
Mel and I with the lovely Yaz, editor of Primped. I felt as though I was in the presence of a celebrity. And yes, I was annoyingly giggly.
Last but not least, my plus one for the evening, Mel. She blogs too!
Participants of the Look Book event were also treated to discounts on cosmetics at David Jones. Unfortunately, as I was limping on a bad foot that night (the big bad blister on my right foot obviously did not stop me from going to the event. I have ’em priorities, as you can see), I ended up having to leave right after the session instead of staying behind to shop. *sniff*
The best part of the event? Other than meeting the lovely Yaz, why, the phenomenal goodie bag, of course!
Whee! 😀
PS: You can’t tell from the pictures, but I wore NARS Rajasthan on my eyes that evening. LOVE it!
Aw Tine – I would have love to put my hand up to go to the event but didn’t manage to snag a place this time. It looked like everyone there had a lot of fun and the goodie bag looks awesome 🙂
Hahah… looks like you had a swell time! And you’re looking good Tine! Your Rajasthan’s arrived! Real lovely, right? =)
Amazing goodie bag and seems like you had such a fab time! 🙂
You look gorgeous! And sounds like you had a great time. The goodie bag is awesome too.
I was at the same session as you! I think you were sitting behind me – from looking at the pics! I was gutted not to be able to get my makeup done by Bobbi Brown before the event…Yaz beat me to it! I now realise to get any makeup done on a friday evening – you need to BOOK in advance….duly noted for future
Thanks for offering to bring me! Sorry I had to bail 🙁 NEXT YEAR!!! And now that I know when it is, I’ll manage Snake’s bday dinner another Friday 😛 😛 😛 Otherwise, he can go jiak karkee
Glad you had fun 🙂
The goody bag was amazing wasn’t it! I am just about to post about it too. 🙂 Cute blog

I was all giggly too… my matie with me couldn’t believe how star-struck I was!
