Oh Kit Cosmetics, how you do me in. Stepping into the store, I almost always come out with something. One of my favourite brands to see and play around at Kit are Lipstick Queen lippies.
I’m quite a fan of her lipsticks, and her new bright-coloured Chinatown glossy pencils caught my eye. During my last trip to Kit, I walked out of the store with Crime.
Description:
“Our Lipstick Queen offices in New York are on the border of Chinatown and Tribeca. Everyday I get off at Canal St subway and marvel at the kookiness of the products on offer. And… one of my favorite movies is Roman Polanski’s Chinatown. All of which served as inspiration for my Chinatown Glossy Pencils!! Kooky and fun with bright colours in a super sheer, super moisturising “draw on” gloss. Gloss in a jumbo-sized pencil… Welcome to Chinatown baby!” -Poppy King, Brand Founder
This glossy lip pencil comes with a jumbo-sized sharpener and the original artwork on the boxes and shade names are all inspired by the Polanski film. They’re bound to make you smile as wide as a Chinatown bargain.
My first impression of the pencils? When placed together, they looked like a bunch of crayons. How cute is that?
As bright as the glossy pencils look, they actually go on pretty sheer. The colours are incredibly buildable, so if you want more colour on the lips, just draw it in. The lippie goes on very smoothly without any waxy feeling, and the cone-shaped tip makes for precision application. You can use it as a lip liner, or a lipstick. As for me, I prefer the latter, as I’m not really big on lipliners.
Since it resembles and works like a jumbo pencil, a sharpener is also included with the lippie. And what’s even more adorable is that a tiny scooper is attached with the sharpener, and can be detached to scoop off any residue lip product left from sharpening the lip pencil. Genius!
Lipstick Queen’s Glossy Pencils come in five different shades.
Crime – sheer hot pink
Mystery- sheer vibrant purple
Thriller – sheer scarlet red
Genre – sheer bright orange
Chase – sheer lush watermelon
These babies retail at AU$34.90 each, and are available at Kit Cosmetics stores.
First we have texters for the lips, and now crayons. What next? Stabilo highlighters for the lips? 😛

Hi! May i know if these are moisturising? Some gloss actually leave my lips feeling drier after it has worn off. Thanks for the review. Hope to hear from you.
