Before I bring you shopping in my stash with me, first of all, I’m going to show you where I stash my stash.
As you will see, I have a very simple dresser and set of makeup containers. It may not be fancy, but I always get a kick when I’m at my dresser, looking at my beloved skincare and makeup items.
My vanity area. I don’t need a mirror to go with that dresser, as it’s placed right next to the ceiling-to-floor mirror, which in my opinion, is simply awesome :p
I recently bought a corkboard from IKEA to place my bottles of lotions and potions. It holds my to-do checklists, ideas, exercise reminders, etc. Whenever I see something interesting in magazines, or if a particular picture catches my eye, I cut it out and stick it on my board of ideas.
Next to my plastic drawers is a bottle of hand sanitiser. Great for when I put on makeup. I like to have clean hands before touching my face.
My perfumes, skin, body and haircare items, which I use on a regular basis. The two porcelain containers on the left holding my hairbrush, comb and facial cotton are gems that I scored from Freedom at AU$2 a piece. These are still available at the store, and I’m going to get another set for future use.
The pink and white thing you see on the left is the Neutrogena Wave Power cleanser. I bought the gadget on a whim, after reading the hype. Even though it didn’t really work for me, my husbands LOVES it. Or he loves it when I massage and deep-cleanse his face with it every weekend 😛 Let me know if you want me to do a thorough review on this.
The round pewter case was a present from him (I think it was a Christmas present on one of the years). He sent it to me from Australia, and there’s an inscription in front. For me to know, for you to find out 😉 We keep our wedding bands in there, together with my watch, when we’re not wearing them at home. Oh, and that Moxie tin (originally came with pantyliners) is now used to keep emergency meds I carry in my bag. I forgot to put that in.
These wooden drawers were from IKEA. It was such a pain in the behind to put up. I was hammering away, and got so fed up with the crappy nails it came with, that I gave up and left it aside. One Saturday, after I came home from Wicked, I was very surprised to find it all done up. Hubs did it whilst I was out. Aww.
I keep powder, foundation, lipgloss, lipbalm, eyeshadows and blush in these drawers. I lined the drawers with scented paper which I bought from The Reject Shop. So even though most of my makeup contain no fragrance, I still get the pleasant smell of vanilla everytime I pick up a blush or lipgloss.
Plastic drawers from the $2 store. I use it to store my mascaras, eyeliners, grooming tools, and pimple creams.
Makeup which I seldom use goes into the top drawer of the chest. I also store my makeup brushes, nail polish, nail polish removers, makeup removers, makeup brush cleaner, and whatever miscellaneous items I can chuck in there.
There you go, that’s where I stash my stash. I’m real glad to be able to get all these done up on the cheap. Next project would be to decorate the wooden drawers and corkboard. We’ll see how that goes.
Where do you stash your stash? Do share. I just love makeup storage ideas, don’t you? 🙂
wow! great stash! i would very much love to be in your shoes~!
XD
So cute and organized! I LOVE your porcelain jars and the whole setup! I just did a post on my stash too lol, but mine’s in a drawer in the bathroom vanity and on top of the vanity. Unfortunately, a small apartment means that my dresser is in the tiny closet with bins of socks and underwear on top, lol…
Oho! I have that very same Ikea corkboard and drawer set but they are in my office to store my stationery et al 🙂 I do use Ikea at home too – Glis boxes are my friend. I dare not write about my stash but I do make sure they don’t outgrow the current storage 😛
I love the wooden drawer from IKEA your stash looks so organized, I love it, thanks for sharing!!!!
You’re so neat!! My stuff is strewn all over my rack! =X
Gosh we need Ikea in Penang!!! >.<
wow girl!
im so proud of you.
im very untidy.
i get very lazy to clean up because i am sorta like a perfectionist?
and when i tidy up and must have this specific place to put everything.
and i end up stressing myself cause i cant find the perfect place to put some stuff.
🙁
It’s very neat! 🙂 Esp your your organisation in the drawer. You’ve got a sizeable collection, and it’s very varied. I’m kinda like that too, I use things from all over, including drugstore brands.
I also like the quaint cream-coloured ‘jars’ you have right behind your blue powder puff. My makedo dresser is not exceptionally special – I use my Ikea four-tier drawer top and its first drawer as my vanity area. My mirror is an antiquated small and oval one. I tend to store my cosmetics in girly zippered cases I can grab and go.
My stuff is just chucked in to every drawer space i can find. But I’ve been really looking for a nice storage for my ever-growing stash!
I felt as though you read my mind. I’ve been tidying my stuff on my working desk to make it as a vanity space cum working desk. I’ll need a good storage idea and you have just provide one simple and easy one!
I love to drop by The Reject Shop when I was in Melbourne. They have good stuff with bargains! We have another thing in common, I love vanilla scent too. I was in love with vanilla scents ever since Lancome Hypnose perfume.
You have a great collection of make-ups and getting organize properly is really important. I just have a small collection 🙂
everything looks so neat! I love your makeup collection. tee hee. my stuff is all over the place. I have a wicker bag with things that I almost never use on myself but use for doing makeup on others such as illuminizers and foundation in different shades.
Then I have my metal traincase with my occasional makeup… then a flat compartment box with my lippies and pigments (in a HUGE mess)… then a small tackle box for my frequently used makeup… and those little drawers for my eyeliners and mascaras stuff…. yeah.. and some stuff here and there. eck.
Nice and neat stash! Thanks for sharing! 🙂 I love the way you neatly compartmentalize all your stuff. 🙂
I’ve got all my skincare and bodycare in the bathroom cupboards downstairs and all my makeup are in those Reject Shop drawers in my bedroom upstairs. hehe….
I love that wooden drawer. Maybe once we move to a proper house I’ll get one of them. Its nice and neat and tidy.
Good post, as always, Tine! 🙂
Good organization!! I love looking at your stash, hehehe.
Wow! You’re so neat! I usually just chuck my stuff everywhere in the morning, and dread cleaning it up at night.
Also…what a collection! I love it! So very jealous of you right now 😀
love how u organized yr stuff! my stuff is all over the place too. btw, i saw the wooden drawer from ikea and i was tempted to buy it. till i realized i have to hammer it myself… gosh. i just hate assembling stuff. i think kahani has one and she decorated with present paper, or was it some wallpaper and it looks really cute
Aw I love posts like this … taking a sneak peak into everyone’s makeup! I would post something like this too but I don’t have a vanity table or that much makeup haha. You’re very lucky!
Love this post Tine!
Oww cute stash! and I’m spotting Moxie there (luv the packaging) lawl =p
um just curious… what is that green pump bottle next to the two plastic drawers? what brand is that???
haha i have the same wood organiser and planning to get the same tallboy!
I have the exactly same IKEA wooden drawers too! I’m not a technical girl so my bf helped me to assemble it… hahahaha… I’m kinda love the drawers but it doesn’t spacious enough for my stash… This is not because I have a lot of makeups… but I don’t like to stacking up my cosmetics so I arrange them laying out flat inside the drawer, which takes up a big space. Got myself another TOYOGO plastic drawers from my mum’s house for mascaras, lippies, grooming tools & foundations.
