I picked this up at Sephora during my honeymoon on impulse. Hey what can I say? The cute, vintage tin caught my eye 😉
Description:
Indulge your sweet tooth as you soothe dry, chapped lips with Rosebud’s newest, strawberry-scented lip balm. Following in the Rosebud tradition of simple, easy to use products, this vintage-inspired tin contains a combination of rich emollients that lock-in moisture and banish dryness after only one application.
Ingredients:
Petrolatum, lanolin alcohol, synthetic wax, natural and artificial flavour
I have a thing for strawberry lipbalms, ever since my mother got me my very first lipbalm at the age of 11, when we were in the US for a holiday. I don’t normally use lipbalms that I have to use my finger to apply on, so I was really hoping I’d like it when I popped this into my shopping basket.
I’m happy to report that it’s a great lip balm. The scent of artificial strawberries may be a tad overpowering when you sniff the open tin, but upon application, the taste is yummy. It glides on very smoothly, and keeps my lips moisturised all night long. I don’t normally like to wear flavoured lip balm when sleeping, but for this, I’ll make an exception.
Even though the balm looks pink, it does not leave any colour on the lips. I really like how vintage-looking the tin is. Looks like something my mother used back in 70s!
Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm is available at Sephora at US$7.
What I like about it: Moisturising lip balm, cute tin
What I did not like about it: Have to use my fingers to apply. The strong scent might be put-offish to some. Plus it’s not available in Australia.
I would purchase this too if I see it! So cute, I love tin cans but if I did purchase it…I’ll be lazy coz I’ll be using my fingers on this! ahahaha 🙂 But I can imagine the wonderful scent it has! 😀
I just bought this at Sephora too! It smells like a strawberry milkshake to me. I’ve been using it on my cuticles and it really helps with dryness.
Mmm yum! I’ve been waiting for a review on this, thanks!
love the tin! so classic, and i am also a strawberry fan! i love strawberry lotion/lipgloss etc. one thing tho, it is so troublesome applying it with finger!
it looks to pretty. I am a sucker for vintage 😀
Love the vintage packaging! I’m actually a fan of applying lip balms with fingers. Unhygienic, yes; but there’s just something feminine about that? Okay, I’m weird. 😛
Nikki:
See that was exactly what I thought! Buy and keep, ‘cos I’ll be too lazy to use it :p But no, this time, I’m making sure to use it, even with fingers :p
Toma:
Cuticles, huh? That’s a great idea. Do you reckon it’ll be too sticky on the fingers?
Fuzkittie:
This review was specially for you babes 😉
Prettybeautiful:
Yeah I know. Oh well, have to suck it up if I wanna use it :p
Miku:
Me too me too!
MisSmall:
Hahaha, okay, that’s the first time I’m hearing it. Nah, it’s not weird 🙂
hi there, I vaguely remember seeing these in Peter Alexander stores in Sydney so you might be able to find it where you are too. They put them in these huge glass jars at the cashier and I saw the brambleberry ones there as well 🙂
J:
Really? Thanks, I shall go check it out asap! 😀
Ugh … Just wrote a review on the Brambleberry and the smell is pretty gross as well, so I was hoping that I can get the other flavors. I love the gloss, but why can’t they make one that doesn’t have an overwhelming smell! 🙁 I’ll have to hunt down the original, then!
You can get it from the American Apparel website, which is:

And also my favorite ebay store Lip Barn usually sells it too.
