I went to the matinee of Wicked The Musical on Sunday with Geekchic and her husband. I was absolutely blown away by the great music, fantastic costumes and elaborate sets. We had great seats; I think we were sitting at the 6th row from the front. If you’ve not watched it, and if you get the opportunity to, don’t hesitate. Go watch it! I was utterly high from musical. Still am, in fact.
Souvenir program for 20 bucks
As you can see below, I put on very simple makeup to the matinee of Wicked. I didn’t know what to expect, if the rest of the patrons would be dolling up or not (they didn’t), so I kept my eye makeup very subtle. I prefer a flawless face to meticulously applied eye makeup which people can hardly see anytime π
Face:
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
Clinique Superfit Makeup in Neutral
Make Up Forever Super Matte Loose Powder in No. 14
Bourjois D’un Coup de Pinceau Light-Reflecting Concealer
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Kanebo T’estimo eye shadow palette (very shimmery colours – only the darkest shadow showed clearly. The rest were sheer)
Max Factor Aqua Lash Mascara
Kanebo T’estimo eyebrow pencil
Cheeks and Lips:
Nars blush in Exhibit A
Avon Ultra Moisture Rich lipstick in Metallic Pink
Come to think about it, I should have gone green on the eyes, huh? :p
Sigh … I can’t seem to take good photos of my eye makeup. I don’t like to use the flash as it blinds my eyes, but using the flash is the only way to make the makeup more apparent. How do you girls do it?
This *ahem* young *ahem* Padawan has much to learn.
hahaha the young padawan. but anyway, i just have to say it again: I LOVE YOUR EYES!
connie is the expert in taking eye make up shots, nikki also very good at it. perhaps they might be able to tip u π
You look so fresh!! I love the lippie on you!! Its really sweet!! π
What i usually do when i take my eye photos is i stand in front of a bright window, position the camera right in front of my eyes (do turn on the macro mode), look down and snap! I find that the colors appear better if i look down instead of closing my eye completely!! Hope that helps! π
BTW, your brows look perfectly fine to me leh!!! π
Very pretty fresh look though yes, green would have suited the theme better π Tip for the T’estimo palette (which is a purple I happen to LOVE!) – use your fingers instead of applicators – it gives a more intense look but still is shimmery. I don’t do many FOTD shots but when I do, I use natural sunlight, macro setting, no flash and take 20 shots to find a good one π Happy experimenting!
Hello dearie!
1. You look perfectly lovely. Fresh and glowy, in fact. Very nice. =)
2. I LOVE Wicked too! Me and a girlfriend caught it in London’s West End when I was there. We got relatively good seats too, and it really blew me away! My first West End experience and I’m now drooling for more. Hahaha… Loved it!!! Glad you enjoyed it. =)
you look lovely! so soft and fresh. me like!
Prettybeautiful:
Thanks! You might not think so when you actually see the real me, so take it with a whole pinch of salt :p
Jenn:
I love the lippie too. And it’s so cheap! I tried out your method, but for some reason the eye makeup never shows as well. Stupid camera π
Hee hee, I filled in the brows mah. Or else damn scary wei :p
Paris:
Oh I know right? Should have gone green :p
Thanks for the tip on using of fingers. I’ll give it a go π
Giddy Tigress:
Awwwww thanks π
Syen:
Yay you watched it too! I had no idea Glinda was so ditzy :p
Connie:
Thank you thank you π
I love your eyes! In fact, I think they would look good without any makeup too!
And sorry, I don’t know how to take pictures of eye makeup myself too…hehe
first comment from iPod. Love your look that day. Reckon the Chanel in caviar skin would be awesome on you. π
I went to catch WICKED in Chicago. Sat 4th row from the stage, in the middle. It was awesome. Best night of my life.
Hi!
I think your makeup look is really adorable! I love it!
And like you, my eye makeup is mostly very subtle. But I’m now experimenting with eye shadows and application techniques a lot, in order to find out, what flatters me.
Another thing that I have in common with you, is that I’m still a newbie at taking proper photos of my eyes or even my face for my blog… I always end up with a gaze, which I really hate. But I’m not giving up and neither should you! Practice makes perfect! π
Have a nice day!
Jess
me likey babes! I have a major problem with attempting to take FOTD shots – after 20 or so attempts (by Paris’ estimation) I STILL get super scary results and get exasperated, so you’re doing well! π and Wicked is AWESOME!!
you are lovely!!! I love it! simple as that.
Hi, have you still keep the box with the instruction behind ?
can you show the instruction pic ?
i also got this palette but in different shade , and lost the box of the instruction, so sad about that … check all the web and can’t find it π
