Check out my latest pair of disposable sunglasses!
Now before you get the wrong idea, and think that I actually chuck ’em after use, see, the thing is, I love sunnies. There are just so many different types to choose from, and I always have so much fun in ’em. Obviously I cannot afford to get lots of designer sunglasses, so what I do is I buy disposable ones.
In other words, cheap sunglasses which are easily replaceable by new fashionable ones.
Whaddya know? An FOTD without any makeup on!
This way, I get to wear cute sunnies without breaking the bank. I recently lost a pair of sunglasses which I paid a lot for, and the thought of it just sickened me. It’s not Gucci or Chanel, but I still paid hundreds of ringgit for it, and when I lost it, it felt utterly horrible. With disposable sunnies, I don’t feel too bad if I misplaced them, broke them or something. Also, fashionable sunnies often, well, go out of fashion pretty soon, so I don’t believe in spending so much money on something which won’t last. For a more expensive, durable pair, I’d go for a classic, simple design, like the ones from Silhouette.
Cheap sunnies often do not come with UV protection (or really paltry ones), so don’t wear it often if yours doesn’t have any. You’ve been warned 😉
For now, I’m really digging my new cheapo sunnies which I bought from Cotton On yesterday for AUD12.95. I’ve never worn a pair so big before, so it’s going to take a bit of getting used to. Nicole Richie I’m definitely not, but man, this is great for disguising a face :p
What about you? Do you have a pair of really good sunnies, or do you have many pairs of disposable ones like me?
PS: And yes, this is what you’d call a shameless camwhoring filler post. Tsk tsk.
*wolf whistles* 😀 I unfortunately have too big a face to carry these off 🙁 I was given one free (disposable as you call it) but it perches on my cheekbones instead of on my nose! Still, you look adorable.
love ur sunnies! i love cheap-ass sunnies too.. hehe can simply chuck them around without feeling heart-pain 😀
*sigh*…I’d have to agree with ParisB on both counts – the wolf whistle and my big face…if I wear those, I’ll end up with nice BIG red lines all across my cheeks and ON my nose bridge! :s They look fab on you, though me prefers the first one! 😀
Girl I love this sunnies on you! so chic!!! And very actress-y!!! Woohhoo can I get your autograph? 😛
I started to be a cheapo sunglass user, and I can’t count how many Sunnies I have and broken or got lost 🙂 lol..finally I bought a more expensive one because I know I needed the extra sun protection, I use it alternately with the cheaper ones 🙂 So I hope if one managed to get lost, it’ll be the cheapo one! LOL 🙂 Love your photos!!!
You look soo chic yet adorable with those shades Tine!! Feel like pinching your cheeks!! hehehe!!
I can’t wear shades without good UV protection because i get a splitting headache in bright conditions. I swear by Oakleys, but their ladies range are sooo limited!! I want to find one just like the one you wore! 😀
Tsk tsk…no makeup still so pretty. So jelas! Hee…
I was just thinking of posting something about my big cheap sunnies but I think looking at yours, I better not. You know…too much to compare in terms of the looks. Hahaha…
But I love big cheap sunnies too! No need to worry about losing them or dropping them.
haha, lovin both sunnies on you 🙂 very nicole richie-esque!
i like cheap sunnies myself since i misplace/drop things too often. it’s hard to find sunnies that don’t leave a mark on my face though. darn these poofy cheeks!
I actually have plenty of disposable sunnies- aviator style, wraparound, etc. But I also have a pair of “good” sunnies- ZeroX 3rd Anniversary edition ones 🙂
looking hot!! Ahh.. I hardly ever wear sunnies. Feels weird. Lol.
Looks good on ya! 🙂 I only have one pair of sunnies…but I know what you mean! Having many sunnies is definitely better. Can match them easily to whatever you’re wearing and cheaper sunnies are easier to maintain! 🙂
I like to get some but I haven’t got around to do so.
I’m a fan of cheap sunglasses. I tend to lose them.
Paris:
Aww thanks 🙂 Actually come to think about it, the sunnies do rest on my cheeks. Shucks. Oh well :p
Prettybeautiful:
Aren’t they the best? Exactly, no heart pain when they’re lost or broken!
Beetrice:
First one? You mean the first picture?
Anyhoos, oh boy, I haven’t worn the sunnies long enough to see if there’re going to be big red lines on my cheeks! :O
Jace:
Haha, that’ll be Nicole Richie-esque, and double the body size. Hold on, make that a triple.
Nikki:
For you dahlink, it’s yours 😉
I used a lot of cheapo sunglasses too, until I bought an expensive one, and bloody lost THAT one. Now it’s back to the cheapies 😀
Jenn:
Hee hee, ouch ouch don’t pinch 😛
Hmm in that case, I reckon you’d better just stick to the good ones. No point sacrificing for vanity. But then again, haven’t we all sometime or another? 😀
Sesame:
That’s why have to make the pictures black and white, ‘cos I had no makeup on! Haha, cheat!
Oooh post on your sunnies! I wanna see 🙂
Stephanie:
Ahh always good to have a pair of good sunnies around. They’re better for you anyway.
Connie:
Ha? Really? Oh my, I’ve been wearing sunnies ever since I was 8! (free fluorescent green/pink sunglasses from either McDonalds’ or Pizza Hut :p)
Indulgent Diva:
Go get more! Summer’s here 😉
ilovepearly:
Hi there, welcome to my blog! 🙂
Fabulessbeauty:
Oh I know right? Me too. Can’t remember how many I’ve lost or sat on. Tsk tsk tsk.
