Happy Wednesday, ladies! It’s not such a good day for me, as I’m having non-stop sniffles and am pretty much stuck in bed with a hot water bottle and cups and cups of hot Lemsip.
Okay, sniffles and nose-juice aside (tee hee hee), the question of the day, and I think it’s an important one, is – how often do you use sunscreen?
I can’t really remember when it was that I started wearing sunscreen regularly. My mum gave me her tube of Clinique’s City Block, and told me to start using sunscreen regularly if I want to keep those freckles at bay. A beautician told her that even though you could be indoors most of the time, the fluorescent lamps could still emit UV rays. I’m not sure how true that is, but there’s no harm in having sunscreen on indoors too (except at night).
When it became a part of my skincare routine, I wore sunscreen over my day moisturiser every day. I’d feel strangely naked without it on. Although I do have a sad confession to make – I hardly wear sunscreen on my arms and legs. I really should do so, but I always forget to. I really have to introduce that into my routine. Gah.
Anyhoos. What about you? How often do you use sunscreen? Do you just apply sunscreen on your face and neck, or on your arms and legs as well??
The poll closes in a month.
Its funny how I’m just reading your post and I just thought about it this morning. I was on my way to work and the sun directly hits my skin and it was super traffic so 1 hour of direct sunlight, and I don’t have any sunscreen!!! I felt so affected, I am going back home and purchase a sunscreen for the body! π I also skipped putting sunscreen on my face, I know I should…thanks for the reminder dear
I have been using sunscreen since primary school! In the days before using sunscreen was the norm. Quite glad for that now heh… I use sunscreen everyday, whether leaving the house or not. UV rays can penetrate even through brick walls and windows without UV filters, and then we have lights and computer screens… best to just stay protected. π
i never leave home without sun screeen! but if i am home bound for one whole day, i will just skip the sunscreen though due to laziness. hehe now i am using clinique city block and really loving it
i’m using Lancome’s sunblock, and although its for the face, it actually works pretty well on my arms and legs too!
i applied it on my neck and shoulder areas when i went swimming, and there were no swimsuit/bikini lines!!
i’m so hooked on it now π
I didn’t start using sunscreen till my late 20s I think. By then, already too late cos I used to do a lot of outdoor activities and gosh, in some instances up in the mountains so near the sky and never used sunscreen!
There’s more awareness now but I’m paying the price though. π
I’m very concern about myself being fair. In fact, I’m a very fair guy. But because I’m a guy, I doesn’t like to use sunscreen. lol.
I do! Its a must in my routine too. hehe…
Askmewhats:
Haha, glad I could help π But yeah, I know what you mean about driving and getting the sun rays on your hands. But I’m still too lazy to put sunscreen on. Tsk tsk tsk.
Paris:
Wow! Since primary school?! That’s fantastic! It’s good to start young π
Prettybeautiful:
Hee hee, me too! I don’t wear sunscreen when I’m at home too. The City Block’s pretty good. I’m thinking of going back to it after I finish my Anessa.
Erizabesu:
Oh hey, is that the UV DNA thingy? I like it; oil-free sunscreen is always top of my list. As long as it works, who cares if it’s on the face or the arms or the legs? :p
Sesame:
As long as you’re aware of it, it’s good. I don’t think it’s too late π
HyperX:
Hey just because you’re a guy, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use sunscreen π You should! It’s not a matter of keeping you fair or not, but to protect you from cancer-causing UV rays. So go put on some sunscreen NOW! π
Indulgent Diva:
That’s very good to hear π
I’ve been wearing sunscreen everyday since I was in high school. I feel that I need to be more proactive about remembering to put on sunscreen because my Asian skin is prone to freckling. Nowadays, I use DermaDoctor’s Body Guard because it absorbs pretty well and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. I try to remember to put it on my neck when I can, but I only put it on my arms and legs when I’m going to be baring my limbs. I’ve also taken to wearing a hat when I’m out as well.
I use it everyday! Even i’m at home coz UV light can get tru ur window
